Thank you for joining us at the SDG Tent in Davos last week! 🙌 As we all arrive back in our daily routines let's make sure we don't return to business as usual but keep up the energy, insight and commitment that made our time in Hotel National so memorable. During this #WEF25 we heard that the cure for despair is action, which is why we'll be carrying the following key achievements with us to stay motivated for the rest of the year: 🌱 B Lab launched the Swiss Impact and Prosperity Initiative (#SIPI), a defining framework for the future that reconciles economic, social, environmental and human dimensions of sustainability. ♀️ United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) announced the first Champions of the Coalition for Reproductive Justice in Business, highlighting the value of sexual and reproductive health for companies and their employees. 🪸 Start-ups including Chermolex, rrreefs and Savimbo, presented their natural solutions to clean rivers by creating biodegradable materials from invasive water plants, restore reef ecosystems, and empower Indigenous communities to preserve forests at the Innovate 4 Nature event. 🌍 Sunway University announced a grant of CHF 3.4 million to build capacity, innovation and action for planetary health across Southeast Asia. The agreement was co-signed by André Hoffmann, Vice-Chair, Roche & Co-Founder, InTent, and Dr. Jemilah Mahmood, Executive Director, Sunway Centre for Planetary Health. 👉 Missed a session or forget to write down that key takeaway? Last night InTent and IMD kicked off the week alongside #WEF25 with our opening dinner, “Why We Need a New Nature of Business: Charting a Path to Sustainable Prosperity.” The event was full of inspiring leaders who discussed why humanity can no longer afford to distance itself from #nature. 🌿 We heard consensus that by integrating nature and sustainability into our long-term strategy, we can evolve business beyond a financial focus. The panel's ultimate message was one of hope, admitting that while there is no linear solution to climate change, if we can learn to think and act as systems while letting ourselves be lead by optimism, then we can make change happen. André Hoffmann, discussed his new book, “The New Nature of Business”, co-authored with Peter Vanham, Author and Director, Wiley and Fortune. An insightful panel followed with: ▶️ Julia Binder, Professor of Sustainable Innovation and Business Transformation, IMD ▶️ Jesper Brodin, CEO, IKEA ▶️ Kiki Del Valle, Division President, North LAC, Mastercard ▶️ Emmanuel Faber, Chair, International Sustainability Standards Board (ISSB) ▶️ Andre Hoffmann, Vice Chair, Roche, and Author, The New Nature of Business ▶️ Des Dearlove, Co-Founder, Thinkers50 (moderator) The night ended with a standing ovation which followed Al Gore's words, “The antidote to despair is action, we need to account for the positive returns our investments in environment and human capital generate and keeping moving forward." 👉 Relive the session here: https://lnkd.in/egnUfJK3

Today at #WEF25, B Lab brought together global leaders and changemakers to challenge GDP as the sole measure of success. Over a three hour dialogue attendees explored how to redefine economic success, by incorporating sustainability, equity, and innovation. This event also saw the exciting launch of the Swiss Impact and Prosperity Initiative (SIPI), a visionary project that defines a framework for the future which reconciles economic, social, environmental, and human dimensions. 🪴 Jonathan Normand (CEO & Founder, B Lab Switzerland) said: “The financial and social conflict are far greater than we realize. Current projections for climate change would slash 7% of corporate earnings annually by 2025 - so this isn't just an environmental issue, there really is a business case around long term viability and profitability.” André Hoffmann (Co-founder, InTent and Vice Chairman, Roche) added: "We need to make shift from making money to accelerating the move towards sustainable prosperity. And the SIPI will really allow us to look at that prosperity in a sustainable manner." Moderated by David Bach (President, IMD), Knut Haanaes (Professor of Strategy, IMD) and Stephanie Tauber Gomez (Deputy CEO, B Lab Switzerland), the event hosted an excellent panel made up of: ▶️ Andrea Rauber Saxer (Ambassador , SECO), ▶️ Anna Fontcuberta-Morral (President, EPFL), ▶️ Stephanie Hart (EVP & Head of Operations, Nestlé), and ▶️ Sandrine Dixson-Declève, (Co-President, Club of Rome)
