Enhance your animal nutrition with combined enzyme use! Did you know that combining enzymes like mannanase, phytase, xylanase and glucanase can bring remarkable benefits to your livestock?   In commercial monogastric diets, various anti-nutritional factors (ANF) can hinder nutrient utilization due to the lack of necessary enzymes in animals' digestive systems.   By combining mannanase, phytase, xylanase and glucanase, we ensure the hydrolysis of these ANFs in commercial diets.   For instance, the combination of Natugrain® TS with Natupulse® TS can improve accessibility of enzymes to their respective substrates compared to single enzyme applications.   Visit our website https://lnkd.in/ec_HN7EH to learn more animal feed enzymes or reach out to our team to learn more about the benefits of combined enzyme use: https://lnkd.in/eNZFuRN4   #enzymes #feedenzymes #animalfeed #mannanase #phytase #xylanase #sustainability

It was a pleasure to be at International Animal Production Fair (SPACE) held in Rennes, France! Congrats to our long-term partner Vitalac for the prestigious 3-Star Innovation Award. The award recognizes its "Salmotruck", a tool that allows the decontamination of raw materials intended for animal feed and contaminated with Salmonella or any other pathogen. What makes it unique is that it can be loaded on a truck and brought anywhere where contamination is detected, in order to treat the contaminated feedstuff in record time (up to 100 t/h). The treatment is based on an acid solution, mainly formic acid. We at BASF Animal Nutrition are proud to contribute to this success by supplying the basic element of this acid treatment (Amasil® NA, buffered formic acid) and having done so for decades. We look forward to continued collaboration and innovation with VITALAC in the future! #Partnership #OrganicAcid #AnimalFeed #AnimalNutrition

👏 Congrats to our colleagues who were part of the team developing SCOTT (“Strategic CO2 Transparency Tool”) and won the BASF Sustainability Award yesterday! SCOTT is an integrated digital solution that calculates the product carbon footprint (PCF) for the entire BASF portfolio – currently almost 90,000 intermediates and sales products at over 230 sites. It creates PCF transparency and enables offerings with reduced PCF for BASF customers across the entire portfolio, thus providing important tools for BASF's market driven sustainability transformation. We are proud to have been part of its development! #Sustainability #TeamBASF #Award

🏆 Time to celebrate: This year's happy winners of BASF's highest corporate award were announced yesterday evening. In a festive ceremony, a total of three project teams received their trophies in the categories #BusinessExcellence, #Innovation and #Sustainability from the hands of the Board of Executive Directors. This year's Business Excellence Award went to a team from Petrochemicals, which has opened a completely new market for BASF by establishing a global ethylene network and positioning it among established competitors. Thanks to the great commitment, courage and speed of the winning team, we are now participating in a previously untapped market making BASF one of the largest ethylene exporters in the world. A team from Care Chemicals received the Innovation Award 2024, which recognizes solutions from research and development that can be creatively combined with business models. Within a very short period of time, they developed bio-based and biodegradable wax dispersions that replace synthetic polymer-based ingredients in shampoo and shower products. This means that BASF customers in the personal care industry can now easily respond to the current market trend – formulations without so-called microplastics – and the impending EU-wide ban on microplastics in shampoo and shower products. The Sustainability Award was presented for the second time and honors projects that significantly advance BASF's ambitious sustainability and climate goals. This year’s award went to the SCOTT team (“Strategic CO2 Transparency Tool”). It is an integrated digital solution that calculates the product carbon footprint (PCF) for the entire BASF portfolio – currently almost 90,000 products at over 230 sites. SCOTT thus provides important tools for BASF's market-driven sustainability transformation, creates PCF transparency and enables flexible offerings for BASF customers across the entire portfolio. We heartfully congratulate all winning teams.

Improving nutrient utilisation and converting feed into food more effectively is a key lever for reducing costs and improving return on investment (ROI) in livestock farming. Enzymes are often seen as one of the key options to do this; BASF Animal Nutrition regards them as ‘drivers of digestion’. With its work on enzymes encompassing identification and engineering, to production and formulation, this Industry Perspectives covers a wide range of topics, including key practical issues such as product stability and the ability to combine enzymes for best performance and ROI. Enzymes to use the full potential of your feed – maximizing nutrient utilization with Natugrain® TS! Did you know that grains like corn, wheat, barley and rye, are all rich in non-starch polysaccharides (NSPs)? These NSPs have anti-nutritional effects that can reduce the feed efficiency by trapping valuable nutrients and increasing digesta viscosity, thus preventing them from being digested. Natugrain® TS contains the enzymes xylanase and glucanase that can break down NSPs, improving nutrient utilization and providing more energy from the feed.   Watch the video to find out more!   #animalnutrition #animalfeed #feedenzymes

Deep dive enzyme stability: pH profile The pH range of a feed enzyme is highly important as the enzyme activity is highest within a specific range of pH values known as the enzyme's optimal pH range. If the pH is outside this range, the enzyme's activity and efficiency can be significantly reduced. In monogastric animals like pigs and poultry, the pH at the beginning of the gastrointestinal tract is usually between 2 and 6. As pH activity tests have shown, our new manananase Natupulse® TS has a pH range from pH 2 to pH 6 and thus, is well adapted to the pH-range of the GIT of monogastric animals.   Visit the Natupulse® TS website to learn more! https://lnkd.in/et4pswYh #enzymes #feedenzymes #animalfeed #mannanase #sustainability

Deep dive enzyme stability: Gastric stability Gastric stability of enzymes is essential as it helps to ensure the enzyme remains active until it reaches its target site in the gastro-intestinal tract (GIT). Feed enzymes need to be active directly at the beginning of the GIT to hydrolyze anti-nutritional factors and reduce their potentially negative effect on nutrient digestibility. This can be particularly challenging in fat-coated granule formulations as these granules often do not dissolve fast enough. Here, the powder formulation of our enzyme innovation Natupulse® TS is of advantage since the enzyme molecule dissolves very fast under GIT-conditions and thus enables a high efficacy.   Visit the Natupulse® website to learn more! https://lnkd.in/et4pswYh   #enzymes #feedenzymes #animalfeed #mannanase #sustainability
