POWERING TODAY, EMPOWERING TOMORROW

Sobre nosotros

Ocean Winds (OW) is an international company dedicated to offshore wind energy and created as a 50-50 joint venture, owned by EDP Renewables and ENGIE. Based on our belief that offshore wind energy is an essential part of the global energy transition, we develop, finance, build and operate offshore wind farm projects all around the world. When EDP and ENGIE combined their offshore wind assets and project pipeline to create OW in 2019, the company had a total of 1.5 GW under construction and 4.0 GW under development; OW has been adding rapidly to that portfolio and is now on a trajectory to reach the 2025 target of 5 to 7 GW of projects in operation, or construction, and 5 to 10 GW under advanced development. In 2024, OW’s offshore wind gross capacity already operating, contracted or with grid connection rights granted reaches around 17 GW. OW, headquartered in Madrid, is currently present in 8 countries, and primarily targets markets in Europe, the United-States, selected parts of Asia and Brazil. Today OW has a global presence, integrating diverse people all over the world. We value and promote this diversity as a factor creating value and innovation. We recognize that multiplying differences is to go further, to bring together points of view and ways of seeing the world, to integrate all aspects, to be consciously inclusive, particularly by means of profiles, paths and experiences that bring value and enable us to do what we have to do best. We foster diversity and inclusion by ensuring equal opportunities as an employer, which we also encourage in our suppliers. LET’S COWRITE THE FUTURE OF ENERGY TOGETHER!

Today, we proudly announce the first power of our Moray West project! 🎉 After an intense and effective construction phase, today the 882MW project has successfully delivered the first power to the National Electricity Transmission System (NETS). Moray West is now in the final phase of construction, with the last turbine components being pre-assembled in Nigg harbour prior to offshore installation. With amazing hard work and professionalism, the project teams have enabled this significant milestone to be reached. With their continued dedication we will drive towards successful completion of the installation programme and commissioning over the coming months to complete the work on the project. Today we are not just proud of this KEY milestone, but of all the history behind it: ➡ Our contribution to a better future, starting today. ➡ A committed, talented, hard-working team, which has allowed us to deliver on time. ➡ OW's ability to deliver, despite the context, high level projects. ➡ Our commitment to generating positive socio-economic impact. Today is a day to be #ProudtobeOW, and we encourage you to join us! Discover more about this key milestone 👉 https://lnkd.in/e7ncJJZ2 #renewableenergy #offshorewind

Connecting with our local community! 🏘 Throughout the entire life cycle of our projects, one constant remains: our commitment to a continuous and transparent relationship with our local communities. A great example of this is from our #WindFloatAtlantic team in Viana do Castelo! This month, #WindFloatAtlantic participated in and sponsored the Open Day at the Port of Viana do Castelo, where the O&M Base of our project is located.⚡ During this event, we welcomed local citizens to our base, giving them the opportunity to learn about our unique and pioneering project through team explanations, a very cool 3D model of the wind farm, and a VR virtual visit experience! Visitors also had the chance to see the beautiful and realistic #WindFloatAtlantic models made by local school students who participated in our Wind Experts program. In the afternoon, our team participated in a race around the Port's facilities, providing a new perspective of the harbor 😉. We were also honored by the presence of Pedro Afonso Rodrigues, our sponsored professional local kite surfer! Congrats to the team for their great effort! Events like this allow us to keep fostering connections with the community, even after our project is operational! 👏 Learn more 👉 https://lnkd.in/gq3Xr_BG #ProudtobeOW #renewableenergy #offshorewind

As yesterday was International Women in Engineering Day, we proudly acknowledged the outstanding contributions of women engineers and reminded everyone of the importance of diversity and inclusion in the offshore wind sector! 🌬   To celebrate, we wanted to share the story of a recent visit we received from young girls interested in the offshore wind sector! 👷♀️   These scholars had the opportunity to be with our teams in our Madrid headquarters office, where they learned more about our competitive sector from different and various departments of our company, encouraging greater gender equality in STEM fields.   But that’s not all! Globally, OW works to promote STEM opportunities, developing scholarships and internships to educational programs that promote the involvement of women in these sectors.   We want to take this day as an opportunity to recognize and appreciate the diverse talents and achievements of our OW women engineers! By supporting and empowering women in STEM, we can create a more equitable and innovative future for all. ⚡   Let's continue to inspire the next generation of women engineers! 💪 #ProudtobeOW #renewableenergy #offfshorewind #INWED24 #InternationalWomenInEngineeringDay

📆 Last week, our Korea Floating Wind project actively took part in the key event "2024 Ulsan Floating Offshore Wind Power Forum"!  The event was a great success, attended by more than 500 people and organized by the Ulsan Floating Offshore Wind Power Association, of which Korea Floating Wind is a member together with the other 4 floating projects in Ulsan, and the Ulsan Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the Ulsan Technology Park, and sponsored by the Ulsan Metropolitan City.   ➡ So, what was the objective of the event? To explore the administrative and technological advances of floating offshore wind energy, as well as to promote industrial growth and job creation through the development of this energy, which will be a key boost to the local economy. 🏗 The event was attended by key representatives, including senior officials from the National Assembly, MoTIE, Korea Electric Power Corporation (KEPCO) and various fishermen's organisations. The opening speech was given by the President of the Ulsan Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Lee Yoon-cheol, followed by a congratulatory speech by Mayor Kim Doo-gyem. Also, in attendance was the Spanish Ambassador to Korea, who highlighted Spain's commitment to Korea's energy transition, in which the Ulsan floating projects will play a key role. The event continued with a forum in which the developers presented their projects, and in which Austin Park, project director of Korea Floating Wind, presented the good collaboration between the 5 Ulsan developers, the authorities and stakeholders, which has led to significant progress in the project’s permitting, interconnection and environmental impact assessment in the last months. Korea Floating Wind is our 1.2 GW floating offshore wind project in Korea, in partnership with Mainstream Renewable Power, which is expected to power more than 1,3 million houses in Ulsan. 🏘 Thank you to the organizers and attendees for an outstanding event! Together, we are driving the future of offshore wind in Korea! 🌬 #ProudtobeOW #renewableenergy #offshorewind

Tomorrow, on Global Wind Day, we reaffirm our belief in the power of wind. 🌬   At OW Ocean Winds, we are shaped by the wind, which guides us, drives us, and empowers us to change the world. 🌍   But we are not the only ones who appreciate this unstoppable force... introducing you to Pedro Afonso Rodrigues, our new OW ambassador! 🎉   Who is Pedro, you ask? Pedro is a Portuguese national kitesurfing champion in the Formula Kite category, where he stands on the international podium.🏆   While the wind and the ocean unite us, our bond with Pedro is deeper, as he is from Viana do Castelo, home to our #WindFloatAtlantic project, the world's first semi-submersible floating wind farm.   We couldn't ignore this great coincidence... so we presented him with a plan: that he joins us offshore, where he could kitesurf in our wind farm! And the best part? He said yes! We accompanied him 18km offshore, and the rest is history... Explore more about Pedro Afonso's journey and our sponsorship 👉 https://lnkd.in/dpMHQ-i4 And, let’s ride the wind with Pedro! Watch him in action at #WindFloatAtlantic, and stay tuned for more! 👇 #ProudtobeOW #renewableenergy #offshorewind
