Through six pilot programs, the project focuses on sensory experiences that speak directly to the senses—whether it’s a colorful sign that encourages turning off lights or a playful reminder to reduce waste. The goal is to make these actions feel natural and easy, especially for young people who will carry these habits into the future. But 𝗡𝗨𝗗𝗚𝗘𝗦 isn’t just changing habits in one city. It’s building a wider Mediterranean community—connecting cities, sharing ideas, and working together toward a more sustainable future. Unchecked tourism strains local communities and ecosystems, and with climate change intensifying, the stakes are higher than ever. 🌱🌡️ 𝗠𝗘𝗗-𝗥𝗼𝘂𝘁𝗲𝘀 𝗼𝗳𝗳𝗲𝗿𝘀 𝗮 𝗱𝗶𝗳𝗳𝗲𝗿𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗽𝗮𝘁𝗵🗺️ By focusing on the shared heritage of four 𝗖𝘂𝗹𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗮𝗹 𝗥𝗼𝘂𝘁𝗲𝘀 𝗿𝗲𝗰𝗼𝗴𝗻𝗶𝘇𝗲𝗱 𝗯𝘆 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗖𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗰𝗶𝗹 𝗼𝗳 𝗘𝘂𝗿𝗼𝗽𝗲, the project aims to redefine tourism in the region. 🚶♀️🛶 It’s about slowing down, respecting the environment, and fostering meaningful connections with local cultures. 𝗧𝗵𝗲𝘀𝗲 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗚𝗹𝗼𝗯𝗮𝗹𝗹𝘆 𝗜𝗺𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁𝗮𝗻𝘁 𝗔𝗴𝗿𝗶𝗰𝘂𝗹𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗮𝗹 𝗛𝗲𝗿𝗶𝘁𝗮𝗴𝗲 𝗦𝘆𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗺𝘀 (𝗚𝗜𝗔𝗛𝗦), 𝗿𝗲𝗰𝗼𝗴𝗻𝗶𝘇𝗲𝗱 𝗯𝘆 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗙𝗼𝗼𝗱 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗔𝗴𝗿𝗶𝗰𝘂𝗹𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲 𝗢𝗿𝗴𝗮𝗻𝗶𝘇𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗨𝗻𝗶𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝗡𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 (𝗙𝗔𝗢). 🌱✨ These unique sites showcase how communities have worked with nature for centuries. Yet, modern agriculture and tourism often overlook these traditions, leaving farmers struggling to maintain their livelihoods. 🌟 The 𝗠𝗘𝗗 𝗚𝗜𝗔𝗛𝗦 project aims to support Mediterranean GIAHS sites by promoting sustainable tourism.
