The Urban Land Institute is a global non-profit education and research institute supported by its members. Its mission is to provide leadership in the responsible use of land and in creating and sustaining thriving communities worldwide. Established in 1936, the Institute has over 40,000 members around the world representing all aspects of land use and development disciplines. ULI has been active in Europe since the early 1990s and today we have over 3,000 members. ULI Europe has a particularly strong presence in the major European real estate markets of the UK, Germany, France, and the Netherlands but is also active in emerging markets such as Turkey and Poland. We look back to an inspiring site visit to The Pulse in Amsterdam. Over 20 enthusiastic visitors, were welcomed to the construction site. VORM Holding gave us a great tour of this impressive building, where we learned more about the process from the tendering stage until now with a chance to see many of the spaces and enjoy the views. It was fascinating to see how it's taking shape. We look forward to seeing it open to the public in the coming months Thank you to our organizing team of ULI NEXT and of course our generous host VORM! We were thrilled to welcome an enthusiastic crowd of around 50 people for a memorable tour through urban development and architectural projects on the Overhoeks site in Amsterdam. An interesting takeaway of the tour was to experience the impact that landscape design has on the use of public spaces. This event was more than learning; it was designed to share views, exchange insights, and expand our member's professional networks. A huge thank you to everyone who joined us for this enriching experience!

On 28 August ULI Netherlands held an inspiring session on the impact of the new cabinet, kindly hosted by the Rabobank Nederland. Guest speakers Marja Appelman (Ministerie van Binnenlandse Zaken en Koninkrijksrelaties) and Fahid Minhas (NEPROM) shared their views on the future of construction and development in the Netherlands. During this valuable afternoon, our members engaged in insightful discussions about the potential impacts we can expect. Key takeaways included the resounding need for stability in regulations for businesses to thrive, as well as a need for collaboration between sectors to break down barriers and limit siloed working.
