Get in the loop! It's the more rewarding way to recycle. TOMRA Collection provides reverse vending machines for Clean Loop Recycling, to transform society’s habits and keep valuable resources in a continuous loop of use and reuse. The company’s solutions collect aluminum, plastic and glass beverage containers to be continually reused and recycled back into new bottles and cans, particularly in regions with deposit return schemes. With approximately 85,000 installations across more than 60 markets, TOMRA reverse vending machines capture over 46 billion used bottles and cans each year. This reduces reliance on raw materials, and ensures fewer containers end up in our streets, oceans and landfills. • 🇮🇪 It has been one year since the launch of Ireland’s #DepositReturnScheme (DRS) for drink container recycling – and what a year it’s been! 🎉♻️ In just 12 months, the DRS has: ✅ Seen 84% of the Irish public participate ✅ Collected over 980 million containers ✅ Achieved a near-50% reduction in bottles and cans being littered Yesterday, Minister for Climate, Environment and Energy, Darragh O'Brien TD, marked this milestone, celebrating the scheme’s impact. In just its first six months, 350 million containers were returned—and that number has nearly tripled by year’s end. This is one of Ireland’s most significant steps towards a circular economy, keeping valuable materials in use and reducing waste. Here’s to building on this success! ♻️👏 #Recycling #CircularEconomy #Ireland

  • 🗓️ Happy #ChineseNewYear! 🎉 The Year of the Snake is being welcomed with great excitement at TOMRA's Xiamen office in China. Colleagues in TOMRA Collection, TOMRA Food and TOMRA Recycling came together for traditional activities to celebrate the occasion, with a rubbing New Year painting, an ancient traditional art in China called "Ta Yin 拓印”. The paintings are made by brushing ink on to a carved block, and then pressing paper onto the block and rubbing it with a tool. Wishing you a prosperous #YearOfTheSnake! 🐍 #Xiamen #HappyChineseNewYear #ChineseNewYear2025

  • ♻ 🇬🇧 This week, the path toward a #DepositReturnScheme (DRS) for England and Northern Ireland reached a historic milestone - with the DRS regulations now approved by both houses of parliament. The Deposit Scheme for Drinks Containers (England and Northern Ireland) Regulations were officially approved by the House of Lords on Monday, and successfully passed through the House of Commons yesterday. The DRS is slated to kick off in October 2027. 📆 Every year, 6.7 billion bottles and cans go unrecycled in the UK, with drink containers making up 95% of the litter on beaches. 🏖️ Deposit return schemes combat litter, reduce waste, drive recycling and promote a truly circular economy. For more information about deposit return schemes and the technology that powers them, get in touch with the TOMRA team: https://lnkd.in/dVQfjxBs. #DRS #England #NorthernIreland

  • ♻ The European Union's new Packaging & Packaging Waste Regulation (#PPWR) seeks to ensure greater circularity for packaging. What does the PPWR mean for deposit return schemes (DRSs)? 👉🏾 https://lnkd.in/dU7mTFvH Bilyana Ignatova, VP Public Affairs and Head of EU Policy at TOMRA, walks through the new regulation, and how it impacts drink container recycling. “The PPWR recognizes DRS as an effective system for single-use and reusable beverage packaging, and provides the framework to drive performance towards 90% separate collection by 2029,” she explains. 🎯 Coming into effect in early 2025, it aims to reduce the environmental impact of packaging, and boost high-quality recycling and the circular economy. It harmonizes rules across the EU to create a level playing field and consistent framework. ⚖️ “With the commitment and innovation of all stakeholders, we can achieve a circular future for Europe’s packaging,” adds Bilyana Ignatova.    #CircularEconomy #SustainablePackaging #Recycling
