Later this evening we will be undertaking a North Lincs Emergency Exercise on our Scunthorpe site. This will involve up to 8 fire appliances which will arrive via the Brigg Road Gate D entrance. Health and safety is our number one priority and events like this further strengthen the robust safeguards we have in place.

British Steel is delighted to be partnering with Rail Live by becoming the Sustainability Sponsor of the UK’s largest rail exhibition. As 1 of 3 headline sponsors, we will be exhibiting at the entrance to the new Sustainability Village - a new zone dedicated to showcasing sustainable practices and products. This year’s event will be held over 18-19 June at Porterbook's Long Marston Rail Innovation Centre in Warwickshire. We’re proud to be supporting a third runway at Heathrow. The proposed expansion would provide a multi-billion-pound boost to the UK economy, create thousands of jobs, and drive trade throughout the country’s supply chains. Large infrastructure projects such as a third runway at Heathrow demonstrate the requirement for a strong UK steel sector. Earlier this week we co-signed a letter, published in the Sunday Times, calling for the Government to support this exciting opportunity. Today, we are delighted to see the Government backing the airport’s ambition. We have a proud history of supplying our world-class steel into world-class projects and are committed to helping the UK meet its infrastructure needs. A third runway, and the supporting infrastructure, would require large volumes of steel. And as the UK’s only manufacturer of large constructional steel sections, we can play an important role in Heathrow’s expansion and support the growth of the UK economy. #BuildingStrongerFutures
