Venue of the week Today we are presenting the Carriageworks Theatre Located on Millennium square, the Carriageworks hosts many shows, but when the space is free, you can also hire all the lovely and spacious rooms available in the building. The auditorium is arranged over two levels, and is set within an arch theatre with a large stage and seating for up to 349 people. There are also 5 other smaller rooms to hire that can accommodate 20 up to 100 people. Teas and coffees are organised onsite, and main catering is done via an external provider called Flavour which a great choice of menus. Good to know: The venue does offer 20% discount to NHS, charities & non for profits and public bodies. Last night the Hilton Leeds City was the place to be! Thank you for inviting us and VisitLeeds to your Re Launch night full of surprises. Following their beautiful refurbishment of reception area, restaurant and Premium rooms, the Hilton decided to showcase the hotel while showing us how they host events. Every area of the hotel was used differently, you could enjoy Sushis in a Suite, Yorkshire pudding wraps in the breakfast area, ice cream in the restaurant, cheeses in the Brigante. The entertainment was just as good with a magician, casino tables, sax player, photo booth and many more. Giving everyone plenty of ideas on what to do for their next event. Today was a perfect day for a site visit. #Leeds is a compact city centre and we have walked it within a few hours top to bottom from the Leeds City Museum all the way to the Royal Armouries Conference & Events passing by Kirkgate market, Victoria Gate and the Corn exchange.

Martyn’s Law has progressed through its second reading in the House of Lords and will now undergo scrutiny at the Committee stage. The law will introduce new safety responsibilities for venues and public event spaces across the UK.
