FORMATION DESIGN & BUILD LIMITED are pleased to announce that we are in the final stages of the second phase of the Wickford Street project for the London Borough of Tower Hamlets. We have completed all the flats, including decorations, joinery, and flooring, with our thorough snagging process currently underway. The common areas are having flooring laid, with final decoration to follow. The development includes two commercial spaces, for which LBTH has secured internal tenants. They recently visited the site and are extremely excited about moving into their new facilities. Testing and commissioning have begun, and it is encouraging to have permanent power, heating, and lighting now available in the building. The site's proximity to a major Network Rail asset has made the construction process challenging. However, our close collaboration with NWR and Formation’s adaptability in meeting their requirements has ensured the successful delivery of the scheme in harmony with our neighbours and stakeholders. We expect to hand over the building a few weeks ahead of schedule, allowing additional time to complete the BSR process for this 18.5-meter-high building. FORMATION DESIGN & BUILD LIMITED were honoured to attend the Tower Hamlets Partnership event, held in the stunning Town Hall in Whitechapel last week. The event featured a variety of inspiring speakers, including Mayor Rahman and the Junior Mayor of Tower Hamlets, who shared the positive changes achieved in the borough over the past decade. We are proud to have contributed to these developments through our work in the community. While building in Tower Hamlets, we have created numerous opportunities for local residents, offering roles that range from labouring to civil engineering. One notable achievement was upskilling a local resident, enabling him to qualify as a cladder. He worked with us on the site we completed at Heylyn Square in Bow. That project also provided various job opportunities and educational initiatives. For instance, we collaborated with a local school in Whitechapel, where students spent five days learning about apprenticeships and career opportunities within the construction industry. Additionally, we employed an apprentice engineer studying at Chelmsford University, who gained valuable experience on our sites and has since moved on to other significant developments. More recently, we welcomed an intern from University of East London to our team. Ashwin Dhanabalan has joined us at our Bancroft and Wickford sites to learn about site management, boost his confidence, and expand his knowledge of construction management. We are committed to supporting him throughout this placement and helping him prepare for his next opportunity. Special thank you to Sharon Paisley at East London University for collaborating with us to facilitate this placement. We look forward to continuing to invest in the local community and future talent. FORMATION DESIGN & BUILD LIMITED are proud of the excellent progress made at our Duppas Hill site, off Stafford Road, Croydon. This development, for Hyde Housing, consists of 126 units, including a mix of townhouses, duplex units, and apartments spread across three blocks. Progress on site has been outstanding, with all unit walls now closed. A significant number of units have completed second fix mechanical and electrical work, and kitchens are fitted. Painting and joinery are progressing rapidly as we move up the floors. Brickwork is just days away from completion, and the installation of balcony railings is allowing large sections of the façade to be uncovered as the scaffolding is dropped, revealing the building's envelope. This has enabled us to install the central heating distribution system, mains water, data, and power throughout the site. External works are also advancing, with block paving, fences, bin stores, and even plants and turf already in place for our block of three-storey townhouses. 🚧 Ashley Depot - Tottenham Hale 🚧 Project Update - Blocks A , B & C Progress is really taking shape at the Ashley Depot, with both Blocks A and B making impressive strides forward. Here’s the latest from the site: 🔹 Block A We’re almost done with the striking phase, and the team is pushing ahead with groundworks for A5 and A1. Flats are now being prepared for client snagging as we near the finishing touches. Balcony installations are well underway, and we're wrapping up the painting work while also prepping the communal areas for their final paint finishes. 🔹 Block B The team’s on track with brickwork, and we’ve just kicked off the striking phase here. Second fix work is progressing across all blocks, including the M&E and carpentry second fix. Kitchen installations are also in full swing, with taper jointing now underway to bring it all together. 🔹 Block C SFS installation is moving ahead smoothly, and we’re also seeing window installations taking shape, giving the building its first glimpse of what’s to come. Inside, the team is working hard on the drylining first fix, and the M&E first fix is progressing steadily, setting the stage for the next phases of the project. With everything moving forward, thanks to the dedication and hard work of the team, we’re staying on track and making great progress.
