Construction for the new Bedworth Physical Activity Hub is officially underway! With our collaboration with BAM as the main contractor, the Sport England supported facility will be a game changer for the community, providing health and wellness opportunities. Over the next 18-24 months, this project will be a key asset to the local area upon completion, enhancing access to sports and physical activities for everyone. Introducing the 360 Building! If you are familiar with Bristol, you might have noticed demolition works beginning on site for one of our latest projects. Located in central Bristol, we are transforming the former 1960’s 6 storey office building to provide 399 purpose built student housing rooms. The design includes 3 new additional storeys and will provide a mixture of studio and cluster apartments, along with rooftop amenity space and ground floor communal areas. The design reorganises the existing levels on its main elevation from Marlborough Street and introduces a mix of soft and hard landscaped amenity to the building space. We are excited to deliver the project for MELBURG, to bring this redundant building back to life! It was our great privilege to be part of the first-ever Great Notts Ball last night in support of The Television Workshop Ltd, a charity close to our hearts. ❤️ For nearly two years, we have proudly supported TV Workshop pro bono. The charity has done incredible work training young people in Nottingham for TV and screen, with a powerful commitment to diversity and inclusion, ensuring talent is the only ticket needed. The many members that don't pursue a path in the arts take with them invaluable transferable skills to set them up for successful careers no matter which industry they enter. Over the past ten months, we’ve been busy helping to organise the event, and last night our team was there to support. Liz Cartwright attended at the Ten Club table, while Kali Dennett hosted our Cartwright Communications table with special guests Arpita Anstey (The Island Quarter), Luke Saywell (Gascoines Estate Agents), Lewis Martin (SLR Consulting), and Elaine Chadbourne (HEXA). Our Head of Design at Morgan Sindall Construction #Yorkshire, Chris Pilkington, convened a session and lunch this week with our network of Architectural and Structural Consultants to discuss our approach to designing out construction waste and promoting a circular economy. Designing out construction waste centred around the Design Stages and during Construction phase, with the key takeaways being: ✅ product selection ✅ standard sizes ✅ deconstruction ✅ collaborative approach ✅ harvest maps, and ✅ donation of surplus materials. Promoting a Circular Economy discussions were focused around: ✅ resource efficiency ✅ maximum reuse ✅ recycling, and ✅ standardisation.
