  • The Training and Development Academy (TDA) for Merseyside Fire & Rescue Service, supporting expansion, increased training and becoming a national centre of excellence. Replacing two existing fire stations, the flagship scheme provides a new four bay operational fire station. The TDA is designed to achieve net zero carbon operationally by reductions in energy demand and consumption through a fabric first approach and use of onsite renewable energy. The building responds to its industrial context with sawtooth roofs providing north facing rooflights, teaching spaces and south facing roof areas for PV panels. The facility provides a positive and stimulating experience with guest and staff wellbeing at its heart. Bespoke external training zones interact to create realistic and immersive emergency incident scenarios within a safe training environment. 📸 Infinite 3D #Everythingarchitecture #MFRS #architecture #netzerocarbon #merseyside

  • MU3A is the first phase of an ambitious masterplan to regenerate Aire Park in Leeds. The development is formed by two buildings, 1 and 3 South Brook Street, which front the new circa 8 acre urban park, comprising the Tetley Brewery building and Salem Chapel. Facilities include ground floor retail units arranged around a central atrium with office accommodation above. The design gives a subtle nod to the historical context through the use of traditional brickwork and a ground floor concrete plinth with decorative etching which reflects the elegant detailing associated with the historic Salem Chapel. The structural frame, floors and external fabric are all prefabricated offsite. The adoption of Modern Methods of Construction has reduced the onsite programme by 50 percent and eradicated most wet trades from the site operations. 📸 Andrew Heptinstall Vastint UK #Everythingarchitecture #design #leeds

A major milestone in the Pilgrim Street regeneration! 🏗️ The new Pilgrim Place 1 building has secured a major pre-letting agreement and will soon be home to a DWP Service and Support Centre. This nine-storey, 173,245 sq ft space will bring jobs, boost footfall, and energise the city centre, further solidifying Newcastle as a prime location for business and investment. Designed by Ryder Architecture, this development is part of the larger Pilgrim Street regeneration project and is expected to open in 2027, accommodating over 1,700 employees. Adjacent to this, Pilgrim Place 2 will offer an additional 90,000 sq ft of Grade A office space. The overall scheme includes a plaza, public realm improvements, and car parking facilities. This move signifies a significant investment in Newcastle's city centre and, along with Pilgrim’s Quarter becoming the new home for HMRC in the region, enhances its role as a hub for government operations and economic activity 🙌 CGI: Ryder Architecture Photo: Avison Young

Pro bono design for charities and community projects across the UK. Building strong relationships with our communities is a vital part of what makes Ryder unique as we continue to support community impact initiatives that deliver a positive, long term legacy. We are now seeking submissions for projects that could benefit from pro bono architectural concept designs. These are the initial ideas that guide the design of a building, ensuring that it meets the needs of its users. Past beneficiaries included New Writing North’s ambitions to develop a national writing centre at the Grade II listed Bolbec Hall in Newcastle. The pro bono support is delivered through Ryder’s annual graduate design competition - a two day exercise with the participation of approximately 40 graduates running between 9 and 11 April. We encourage applications for projects where the client will be involved in the brief, hold an introductory briefing session, and attend the final presentations. To be considered, please apply with a 140 word statement summarising why your project would benefit from this opportunity and support. Submissions are open until 17:00 7 February via the link: https://lnkd.in/erxuDmXN
