At the end of last year it was exciting to have Stephen Adams, one of Storey's Founding Directors, featured on the latest episode of Propcast by Property Week. Stephen joined experts from Allford Hall Monaghan Morris and British Land to discuss the challenges and opportunities in delivering sustainable Cat A fitouts. At Storey we believe proactive engagement early in the process provides the best, and most sustainable, final result. As Stephen puts it, “one way the industry could shift is by avoiding unnecessary Category A fitouts entirely or consulting occupiers early to ensure the fitout aligns with their requirements.” Listen to the episode to hear more about how the industry can rethink fitouts for a sustainable future. #storeyprojectmanagement #podcast #fitout #sustainability

Much of what we do as an industry is concealed from view – either behind hoarding or within in the confines of buildings. We love that everyone – from clients, to end-users, project team members, and oftentimes passersby and the public – gets to enjoy the finished result, but it’s the journey to get there that we relish at Storey. We’d like to take you behind the scenes of our project at 188 City Road, originally built as the head office of The Lipton Tea Company, with the recent completion of demolition works onsite. The three upper levels of the building have now been removed, along with the existing core, with space made way for the new relocated core which will allow for expansive open-plan floor plates. We look forward to the commencement of steelwork installation just before Christmas and completion of the project (some visuals included below), a net zero carbon in operation office redevelopment, in 2025. We are thrilled to be supporting The Jamie Oliver Group in delivering their new flagship Jamie Oliver Cookery School and Café at John Lewis & Partners on Oxford Street, set to open in Spring 2025. Currently under development, the Cookery School will provide a destination experience that will celebrate Jamie Oliver’s stripped-back, full-flavour approach to cooking. With two purpose-built classrooms accommodating up to 48 participants and delivering over 40 immersive classes—from the ‘Ultimate Pasta Masterclass’ to ‘Vietnamese Street Food’—the space is set to inspire chefs of all abilities. The adjacent Jamie Oliver Café, seating 50 guests, will complement the school with dishes crafted on-site by Jamie’s chefs, utilising celebrated suppliers such as HG Walter and the Dusty Knuckle Bakery. Together, the Cookery School and Café promise to deliver a unique culinary and dining experience. The space will also be adaptable for corporate events, demos, and private hire. Storey is providing project management services throughout this exciting development phase, working with the teams from both Jamie Oliver Group and John Lewis & Partners. We’re proud to be part of this exciting project, which will expand the Jamie Oliver Cookery School portfolio and establish a new culinary destination in the heart of London. A huge congratulations to the entire team for their ongoing efforts in bringing this vision to life! We are thrilled to have recently supported Virgin to deliver their new 24,000 sq ft owner-occupier HQ at the iconic Whitfield Studios in Fitzrovia, London. Once a recording studio for music legends including Amy Winehouse and The Rolling Stones, the building has been transformed into a physical manifestation of Virgin’s values and a testament to the brand’s commitment to its people and the environment. The new HQ aims to be a purposeful and energising place where Virgin’s people feel they belong. Each floor offers distinct environments tailored to different work styles: social spaces on the ground floor for team interactions, and a serene, quiet space on the top floor for focused work. Special attention has been given to accessibility, with mixed seating, height-adjustable desks, and contrasting wall finishes for visual assistance. Awarded an EPC A at completion, the base-build and fit-out were designed with sustainability at the forefront. The space has been tailored to foster personal wellbeing and inclusivity, offering agile working environments, collaboration zones and quiet spaces. Storey provided project management, programme and building consultancy support to Virgin from site acquisition to PC, bringing together the very best of our experience of working with both globally recognised commercial brands and major real estate investors and developers. A huge congratulations to the entire team for delivering an amazing space. Storey are excited to see the plans unveiled of 188 City Road this week by our clients Shorea Capital and Native Land. Originally built as the head office for The Lipton Tea Company, it has been exciting to work with such a forward-thinking team from the outset to retain and re-use 70% of the existing structure, while simultaneously repositioning the building’s core and adding three sensitively designed additional floors, a rooftop pavilion and building wide amenity. Stephen Adams and Angelina Hand have led the project since 2021 through an extremely complex consents and procurement process, working alongside a best-in-class team including Stiff + Trevillion Architects, Quantem, NDY, Heyne Tillett Steel, DP9 Limited and now being delivered by 8build. We are excited to see the progress on site and look forward to sharing more as this redevelopment takes shape. https://lnkd.in/eV5xzV4D www.storeyproject.com #storey #storeyprojectmanagement #siteprogress #sustainabledesign

Storey has recently supported a confidential venture capital firm to deliver their new London HQ overlooking Golden Square in Soho. The project involved transforming three separate floors into one high-quality office space, complete with interconnecting staircases between all floors to enhance connectivity. At the heart of the office is a large social hub, designed with a warm, residential feel that is also fully enabled to host large groups for presentations and events. The space also features numerous meeting rooms of all sizes, including smaller rooms specially designed for VC-calls, and boasts multiple terraces overlooking Golden Square which are seamlessly integrated into the working environment with direct access for employees. Huge congratulations to the team on a successful project completion.
