  • Beyond crude! Sustaining chemicals manufacturing in the UK.   For over six decades, ExxonMobil Fawley’s refinery integration has placed it at the forefront of crude-based chemical manufacturing, but the UK needs change to ensure a competitive future.    In a new scenarios report, the Chemical Industries Association and S&P Global, outline the increasing risk to the sector and to UK jobs if key changes are not delivered:   ·      Access to competitive and alternative feedstock, and energy ·      Scaled up recycling of plastics and other materials ·      Optimised carbon pricing and allowances ·      Accelerated Carbon Capture and Storage ·      Increased availability of skilled labour   Fawley has the capabilities, ability to adopt alternative feedstock, and integration with ExxonMobil’s European manufacturing value chain, but it needs a supportive policy, fiscal and regulatory framework to realise its future potential for the sector.  Read the full report here: https://lnkd.in/ebzQWaTJ #Chemicals #madeinBritain #sustainability #manufacturing #industrialstrategy
