I am thrilled to share that Zūm has been awarded $32 million from the US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Clean School Bus Program. The funding, which brings Zum’s total EPA awards to $58 million, will enable Zum to deploy 117 electric school buses to its district partners across the U.S., including Branford Public Schools (CT), Reading School District l Reading, Pa., Alameda Unified School District (CA), Centinela Valley Union High School District (CA), Santa Barbara Unified School District (CA), and Spokane Public Schools (WA). #studenttransportation #transportation #EVs #AI #sustainability #Electric

I am excited to share that Gameto has closed a $33M Series B fundraising round, led by Two Sigma Ventures and RA Capital Management, with participation from existing investors Insight Partners, Future Ventures, and BOLD Capital Partners among others. Our investor group is also joined by Ingeborg Investments, Amplifyher Ventures, Stacey Bendet Eisner, Founder, CEO, and Creative Director of alice + olivia, and Chelsea M.R. Hirschhorn, Founder and CEO of Frida. This funding brings Gameto’s total capital raised to date to $73M. We are honored to have added the teams at Two Sigma, RA Capital, and others to our stellar investor base, and we are pleased to see increased investor confidence in our platform technology and a recognition of the pressing need for modern treatments in the historically underfunded women's health space, despite a challenging market. I believe that each small step we take in investing in women’s health can lead to a giant leap in medical breakthroughs and innovation. A fundraising round is not a milestone per se but a way to continue amplifying one’s work. I strongly believe that Gameto has strong foundational science, promising data, and a highly driven team and I am very excited about using these funds to continue amplifying our hard work. These funds will support our late stage clinical development in the United States, post-market surveillance outside the US, and the creation of a commercial operations function for our lead product candidate, Fertilo, which aims to improve IVF and egg freezing by reducing the number of hormone injections needed by maturing eggs outside the body in a dish. When I moved to New York City for the first time, I was considering my own egg freezing and I had a dream that a woman could freeze her eggs and do IVF without weeks of painful hormonal injections. It is unreal how far we have come. We have changed, learned a lot, and grown, but still have a long way to go. This raise was a team effort and product of the hard work of all Gameto team members, board members and advisors. Congrats to Reshma Saujani and her team for a fantastic first Moms First Summit. So many interesting women and great conversations, including one I had with Lynn Martin, Tiffany Dufu and Kathryn Kaminski, PhD, CAIA, moderated by Maneet Ahuja, on how to succeed as female leaders when our system sets women up to fail. Bottom line: women need access to paid leave, flexible work and affordable childcare. The truth is not all women who have children will want to keep their foot on the gas when it comes to their careers at the same rate the entire time their kids are growing up. We should celebrate and support all women in these highly personal and often complex choices. Real support means creating both off-ramps and on-ramps so women can slow down and re-accelerate their careers again with less friction and stigma. Today we are celebrating the recent launch of “Growing up Powerful: Money Matters,” a new book for girls published by my dear friend Alexa von Tobel and Rebel Girls. Financial security for women starts with financial confidence end education for girls and there is no better woman to lead this charge than Alexa! Women receive only 78 cents for every dollar earned by their male counterparts (median). They have 30% less saved by retirement than men. And only 52% of women are able to cover 3 months of expenses with emergency savings. Alexa has dedicated her career helping women make and manage their money - first as the founder and CEO of financial education platform LearnVest, and now as the co-founder and General Partner of leading VC firm Inspired Capital.
