Last week The Case for Her's co-founders Wendy Anderson & Cristina Ljungberg went to Guatemala together with Maverick Collective by PSI for their annual retreat! The trip was filled with amazing site visits of Population Services International projects including the Guatemalan Association of Women from San Juan de Sacatepéques (AGIMS) where Cristina who serves as the current co-chair, Wendy, and other Maverick members met incredible indigenous and women leaders. AGIMS has worked in partnership with PSI to include menstrual health education in their gender equity outreach work with women in 24 indigenous communities! 🙌😍 Thank everyone at Maverick Collective by PSI who made this trip possible 🙏 Rena Greifinger Darley Tom Legna Perez-Cordon #WomensHealthMatters #SocialJustice #PSI #SDG5

#Malaria can stand in the way of parent’s witnessing their children’s journey through childhood — but women in Mozambique’s Sofala province are determined to change that. Through the Unitaid-funded, Population Services International led Plus Project, mothers like Muzamusse Joaquim Luis are ensuring their children receive lifesaving preventative malaria care. 🌍 Through community engagement and integrated healthcare interventions, the project is driving measurable progress towards a #MalariaFree future. #Selftesting has transformed health care by expanding access to care and easing the strain on health systems. As we aim for #UHC by 2030, self-testing must be a core strategy. We must continue to innovate, broaden access, and ensure self-testing is affordable and available to all. By doing so, we can close diagnostic gaps, improve individual health, and bring quality care to those who need it most. Population Services International's Director of HIV Karin Hatzold, MD, MPH explores how in her latest op-ed with Devex. Dive in: https://bit.ly/4fbW0GT

Last week, from September 2-6, 2024, we were thrilled to host a distinguished delegation from Liberia, led by Hon. Ellen O. Pratt, Deputy Minister for Urban Affairs at the Ministry of Internal Affairs. Their visit to PSI Ethiopia was a powerful opportunity for continental learning and collaboration. Engaging in insightful discussions with Dr Dorothy Balaba, PSI Ethiopia's Country Representative, the teams explored how PSI Ethiopia’s impactful programs are transforming lives and identified opportunities for synergy with PSI Liberia. The delegation, which included high-level representatives from Liberian government offices, USAID Liberia, and the PSI Liberia team, traveled to Sidama and Aleta Wondo to witness our Transform WASH initiative firsthand. They observed our market-based sanitation efforts and engaged with the Ministry of Health, the Ministry of Water and Energy, and the One WASH National Program. A visit to Silafrica showcased innovative sanitation solutions with potential for widespread impact. This visit highlights the incredible value of intra-African collaboration and knowledge sharing. By learning from each other and working together, we can enhance our efforts and drive significant progress across the continent. Let’s continue to foster these vital exchanges and amplify our collective impact! #ContinentalLearning #AfricanPartnership #SanitationInnovation #PSI #Collaboration
