On Saturday, January 18th, #TeamSouthway came together to celebrate the hard work and dedication that shaped 2024 at our Annual Winter Gala held at The Center Club in Baltimore. It was a meaningful evening as our Maryland, Virginia, and North Carolina teams gathered to reflect on a year of collaboration and impact in the communities we serve. True to Southway’s mission of building and transforming people, communities, and buildings, the Gala was a reminder of the collective effort it takes to make a difference. One of the evening’s highlights was recognizing individuals through five special awards: 🏆 Quality Award 🏆 Dependability Award 🏆 Integrity Award 🏆 President’s Award 🏆 Unsung Hero Award The Quality, Dependability, and Integrity Awards are particularly meaningful because they come from the voice of our team. We are excited to introduce two incredible additions to #TeamSouthway! 🌟 Doug joins us as Superintendent, bringing a wealth of experience in ground-up projects, site work and utilities, additions, and the gutting and re-fitting of occupied buildings. As a Pittsburgh native and proud Steelers fan, Doug enjoys fishing and hunting when he’s not busy on the job site. 🌟 Dominic joins us as Preconstruction Manager with extensive experience across commercial, mission-critical, federal, education, and retail sectors. A Washington, D.C. native, he’s a proud father, the owner of “the coolest dog ever", and an enthusiast of Brazilian jiu-jitsu and boxing. We are thrilled to welcome Doug and Dom, and excited to see the positive impact they’ll bring to our projects, our clients, and our team. 🎉 . . . 📢 #ProjectUpdate: The Terraces at Park Heights in Baltimore, MD 🏗️ Southway has been hard at work on the new construction of The Terraces at Park Heights for just over a year! This 94,945-square-foot building will provide 100 units of affordable senior housing with attached retail space, addressing a vital need in the Park Heights community. Currently, our team is working on: 🚧 Exterior: Siding, brick, painting, and sidewalks. 🚧 Interior: Painting, tile, water room buildout, HVAC & electrical trim-out, and wood trim installation. In the coming weeks, our team will focus on: 🚧 Exterior: Plaza lighting, pavers, concrete planters, and landscaping. 🚧 Interior: Common area finishing and trim-out, and quality control punch walks in units. 🚧 Systems: Permanent power and solar panel installation. 🚧 Roof: Completing perimeter parapet work. With completion expected in April, The Terraces at Park Heights will enhance the Park Heights community by providing high-quality, affordable housing options for seniors while fostering growth and revitalization in the area.
