Operating two separate studios totalling 2,105 sq ft, The Studio Space offers modern, state-of-the-art adaptable studio facilities equipped with aerial rigging, variable lighting and ground floor inclusive access. Available for public hire starting immediately, the new spaces cater to artists, fitness and creative freelance professionals seeking regular, long-term studio space while also offering a variety of fitness and wellness classes open to the public. Hundreds of creative businesses and projects across the UK will benefit from a £60 million package of government support to help them grow as part of a major boost to the economy – marking the first step of the Government’s Sector Plan for the creative industries. Culture Secretary #LisaNandy brought together more than 250 creative businesses and cultural leaders at The Glasshouse International Centre for Music, in #Gateshead earlier this month, to set out how the Government will work with the sector to increase growth and investment, including British film exports. Bovingdon Airfield Studios is due to complete its fifth film-making studio in early 2025 – an exciting milestone following hot on the heels of 2024’s tremendous success. BAFTA has announced the nominations for the 2025 #EEBAFTA Film Awards, celebrating the very best in film over the past year. A total of 42 films received nominations. Warner Bros. Studios Leavesden has highlighted the company’s outstanding successes of 2024 – and thanked its “team and community” for making them happen. In the year Warner Bros celebrated its 101st anniversary, film blockbusters such as #BeetlejuiceBeetlejuice and #VenomTheLastDance were released along with comedy TV series, #TheFranchise. #HouseoftheDragon Season 2 and #AQuietPlaceDayOne were filmed at the studios in Leavesden, Hertfordshire, in 2024. Industry talent was bolstered and recognised at the British Film Designers Guild (BFDG) 13th Production Design Awards with #WarnerBros. supporting the annual event including The Peter Lamont – Spotlighting New Talent Award which was presented to Amy Herring – Junior Draughtsperson, by Emily Stillman, Senior Vice President, Warner Bros. An increased rate of tax relief is now available for visual effects expenditure in the UK. UK Screen Alliance have long campaigned for a significant improvement in the screen sector incentives to allow the UK’s visual effects (#VFX) sector to flourish and achieve its full potential for growth. VFX spending in the UK now attracts a net rebate of 29.25%, and is exempt from the overall 80% cap on spending eligible for the Audio Visual Expenditure Credit (#AVEC) – the current tax system for #film, high-end #TV, children’s TV and #animation.
