Appointing a new agency partner is a big deal. Looking for the right skills, experience, and credentials are essential. Thing is, there are so many top agencies out there, how do you choose? I think the secret is #culture. Finding a fit where both styles can thrive. As you know, “culture eats strategy for breakfast”, so I’m sure it would devour our website project as a tasty snack. You can only assess “fit” if you know your own cultural values, what’s important to your team, and consciously choose an agency to complement you. Our brief scored on cultural fit, purposefully looking for “the one” that would indulge our chatty style, fuel our ambitious nature, challenge our thinking, and be open - especially when the things get tricky. In the words of Anna Dixon, “there can be joy on the journey”. People are ace and work can be fun, especially when you hold shared values. Sunday was #WorldCancerDay, a day representing the impact on people globally who suffer the consequences from cancer, either directly or through those they love. More people than ever are now surviving cancer due to critical research, but this research can’t continue without our help.   After the success of 2022, I have signed on to undertake the continuous 100km solo again – this time for Cancer Research on June 8th-9th 2024. This is part of the #UltraChallenge2024 which are a recognised series of immense challenges to support charities across the country. The challenge will involve covering a distance of 100km (62 miles) over 2.5km elevation (or ~2.3 Snowdon’s) and will take somewhere between 24-30 hours, continuing the journey through the night.   Those of you who spoke or saw me after last time I did this know it was no easy feat, it took me 31 hours, along with plenty of tears and losing part of a toe! The aim this time is to be quicker, and hopefully keep more toes…   I know times are hard but any amount you can spare no matter how small or big, will be unreservedly appreciated. Alternatively, any support/advice you can offer would also be appreciated, along with any playlist and/or podcast recommendations for the journey. Our Implementation Manager, Solomon Fazel, will be participating in the Race for Life 10K run for Cancer Research on Sunday 28th July 2024. The Race for Life reminds us that "No matter how cancer affects us, life is worth Racing for." Organised by Cancer Research UK (CRUK), this series of fundraising events brings people together to walk, jog, or run, raising money for research and honouring those affected by cancer. At DKK Partners, one of our core brand values is to Embrace Change, seeking improvement, adapting to challenges, and supporting impactful initiatives. Solomon demonstrates this by participating in the Race for Life, combining personal growth with supporting cancer research. He shared, “I am currently in the process of bettering myself and trying to become as fit as possible. Benefiting a good cause while also bettering myself is a perfect way to do so. I have signed up to cycle 300 miles in June to raise funds for Cancer Research to support the fight against cancer. I have set myself a target of £150 but it would be amazing if we could double that (only £1 a mile!) Every contribution makes a difference – please consider donating to help advance lifesaving research. £25 could either buy 500 plastic test tubes, 5 boxes of gloves, 5 beakers, or a Bunsen burner, which are the understated tools of many experiments. £50 can pay for chemicals called restriction enzymes, which cut long strands of DNA, allowing scientists to find out more about the genes that cause cancer. Early diagnosis is essential to getting the right treatment to people with cancer. £100 could pay for a cancer biopsy. £150 could fund a team of researchers in Manchester for half a day. £200 can buy DNA nucleotides, something scientists use to make copies of genes, giving clues about how things go wrong in cancer. #CancerResearch #Fundraiser
