A green chapter added on the roof of our new assembly hall! ☀️   We recently moved into our new assembly hall - an exciting step for Geovent! But the building wasn't quite finished yet. On the roof we were planning an important green initiative: the installation of our new solar panels!   Together for green energy: With support from the EU EEnergy programme (SMP-COSME-2023-EENEE) and a strong collaboration with StillingSolceller and SolarBalance ApS, we have taken a concrete step towards providing green energy for our production.   The investment in solar panels is central to our sustainability journey. That's why UN Sustainable Development Goal 12 on responsible consumption and production is also an important part of our strategy. Not least in an industry where environmental impact is often a challenge. We want to grow responsibly - while minimising our climate footprint in relation to our level of activity.   🔋Facts about the new solar plant 192 solar panels: The plant can produce approximately 100,000 kWh per year. Energy storage: The system includes six batteries of 14 kWh each. Optimised management: With the help of Solar Balance's innovative system, we can choose to store, consume or purchase electricity at the most efficient times.   We are excited to continue our journey towards greener production and look forward to the positive changes it will bring in the coming years!   Want to know more about Geovent? 🚀 𝐓𝐮𝐝𝐞𝐫𝐭𝐞𝐜𝐡𝐧𝐢𝐜𝐚 𝐢𝐬 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐮𝐝 𝐭𝐨 𝐚𝐧𝐧𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐚 𝐦𝐚𝐣𝐨𝐫 𝐢𝐧𝐧𝐨𝐯𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧! 🚀 We are pleased to share the inauguration of our new automated warehouse, spanning 400 square meters and accommodating up to 300 pallet spaces. This facility marks a significant step forward not only in operational efficiency but also in environmental sustainability. 🔋 𝐈𝐧𝐧𝐨𝐯𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐒𝐮𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐛𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐲 🔋 Aligned with our commitment to a greener future, we have installed additional solar panels to power the warehouse's electricity needs. This enables us to achieve an annual production of 828,000 kWh, equivalent to the annual consumption of 303 households. In the past 12 months, 75% of our energy needs have been met by our state-of-the-art photovoltaic system. With the new panels on our eco-friendly warehouse, we expect to continue significantly reducing our carbon footprint. By embracing solar energy, we cut harmful emissions contributing to climate change. Additionally, generating energy on-site minimizes unnecessary loss due to transportation. Since our foundation, we have installed solar equivalent to the annual electricity use of ⚡️ 1,4 million ⚡️ homes. And we won’t stop here.    This is one of many things we are proud of in the Sustainability report for 2023. Other highlights include:   🛠️ Inauguration of two new Training Centers, in Stockholm and Cologne, to address the lack of solar installers in Europe.   🦺 Over 1,800 safety walks, making sure that our installations live up to our high safety standards.    ⚡️ New services such as Virtual Power Plants that enable a fully renewable Europe.  🌱 Building our first agrivoltaic park, showing how crops and solar can be effectively combined.    ♻️ Initiating CircSolar to find a circular solution for solar panels. 🌞 Harvesting the Sun: Bluelab Goes Solar! 🌱 At Bluelab, innovation meets sustainability. That's why we're excited to announce that Bluelab HQ is now powered by solar energy! 🌍 Just as our precision tools help growers maximize plant potential with minimal environmental impact, we’re excited to take another step towards a healthier world. Thanks to Bay Solar's installation work, 121 solar panels now adorn our Bluelab head office roof, generating an estimated 66,000 kWh of clean energy each year. 🔋 We're thrilled to announce the launch of the AQUABATTERY pilot for sustainable energy storage! Buildings are a major contributor to global CO₂ emissions. To reduce their impact, we're piloting the AquaBattery on our Delft campus.    The AquaBattery is a safe, eco-friendly flow battery that stores energy by splitting water containing only table salt into separate acidic and basic solutions. Combining them later regenerates electricity. This helps make our campus Paris Proof by 2040.   Wouter de Haan, Head of Facility Management at Deltares: "Deltares is a living lab, and by hosting the Aquabattery we can test and optimise it in a real-world setting.
