Breaking news! We are delighted to announce that our Selby Centre and Bull Lane Park project, for Haringey Council, has been granted planning approval. The new Selby Centre and Sports facilities will form part of the transformation of Bull Lane Playing Fields into a local hub for leisure, sports and community use. The new park is an opportunity to create a new community asset, which both Haringey and Enfield residents will benefit from. A key priority for the park is to balance the provision of sporting activities with wilder and biodiverse areas to ensure all types of people and interests are catered for. The Selby Trust and Haringey Council’s vision for The Selby Centre is to provide a new home for this important civic space which has long played a significant local role. It provides a place for local businesses, organisations and people to come together and to share, learn and participate. The new centre will enable activities to spill out into the landscape and allow local people to reclaim and use this urban green space which has become physically disconnected from nearby homes. An article on the $5.5 million redevelopment of Avon Park in the Ōtākaro Avon River Corridor which takes a novel approach to resilience: “We’re really pleased to see this project get underway, particularly as it is the first in the OARC to embrace the ‘living on a river delta’ aspect of the Regeneration Plan and the underpinning Framework for the Corridor developed by Te Ngāi Tūāhuriri and the Establishment Committee. “This philosophy sees us working with the river, rather than attempting to constrain it to accommodate our plans. This is important as the future impacts of sea level rise and more extreme weather make inundation of low-lying areas more likely, and increasingly expensive to prevent” #Resilientsustainablehealthy

Work is continuing at pace on the transformational €15million Balbriggan Quay Street and Harbour project. A a number of key milestones have been passed. The stunning and complex project will create a high quality public amenity and premier visitor destination. It will revitalise Ireland’s youngest town. It will also create a unique, sustainable public open space. The 19,300 square metre site will include a multi-purpose plaza area and linear park suitable for markets, events, festivals and a host of other activities. Following the commencement of work in May, phase one has seen works at the Upper Town Centre Car Park at Mill Street commence and it will reopen at the end of October. The first stage of footpath works at Mill Street is complete. Footpath works are continuing along Mill Street and are expected to be fully completed in November. Works at the south side of the River Bracken river wall are nearing completion and works on the north side will commence soon. Enhancement works to the Bracken River within the existing open space between Quay Street and Mill Street, including widening of the water course, will encourage biodiversity. The biodiversity and environmental, archaeological and ecological impact of the work is being closely monitored. A work compound has been established at the foot of the Harbour’s East Pier. Site works and construction has commenced on the Harbour block buildings and is expected to be complete by July, 2025. Work on replacing the toilet block with a modern facility, and the refurbishment of the RNLI boathouse, is expected to be complete in June 2025. Temporary toilets will be installed and will be in place throughout construction. Resurfacing of the Link Road and the Plaza, to be extended under the Viaduct, is expected to finish in September, 2025. Fingal County Council is working with the local community, businesses and stakeholders to mitigate any negative impacts during all works, expected to the completed by the end of 2025. #balbriggan #balbrigganharbour #fingal #construction #urbanplanning #architecture Our Balbriggan Balbriggan Chamber of Commerce Department of Rural and Community Development Department of Housing, Local Government and Heritage

We are pleased to receive planning consent from Camden Council for a new environmentally ambitious office building led by Allford Hall Monaghan Morris, to replace a multi-storey NCP car park on Saffron Hill in Clerkenwell. At street level, a new café will animate the corner of Saffron Hill. The pavement is extended to invite a moment to pause, with a new pocket garden and re-activated public realm with new seating, planters and street trees that will improve the local environment through SUDS and increased biodiversity. The building will provide amenity terraces on four floors. The planting strategy takes into account insight from our microclimatic studies for this site. This allows the introduction of distinct habitats and ecology to serve the buildings' inhabitants and local wildlife. The proposed planting will also help shelter terrace users from prevailing winds and screen sightlines from nearby neighbours. Persimmon Homes (South West) and Charles Church have received the green light from Somerset Council officers to begin work on 90 new homes at the northern edge of the Monkton Heathfield urban extension. The new homes will feature electric vehicle charging points and include a variety of sustainable and community-focused design elements: 🌳 A buffer of retained and new trees will create an ecological dark corridor. 🌲 A woodland walk will provide walking spaces for residents. 🏡 22 homes will be solar-powered, with three accessible bungalows reserved for a local housing association. 🐦 Each home will include bird and bat boxes to support local wildlife. The final phase of Hartnells Farm will bring 320 new homes to the area, with the first residents already settling in. The development is committed to sustainability and creating a welcoming community with a range of features to benefit both new and existing residents. #PersimmonHomes
