  • At Circana, we advance and embrace our inclusive culture together. Today, we’re spotlighting our DEI volunteers, and the focus is on Circanians in Italy, where we have an active, impactful DEI volunteer committee. This year, the team is focusing on a few key initiatives, one of which is to promote awareness of femicide and gender violence. In particular, they’re helping to increase knowledge of the free-of-charge phone number (1522) that helps to support victims of violence and stalking and the #NonSeiSola (You Are Not Alone) campaign. In Italy, symbols of this awareness are a red bench or red shoe. From the beginning of March, Women’s History Month, a red chair has stood in the lobby of our Milan office. Colleagues have been leaving messages of solidarity via QR code or notes on the chair itself! This program will continue throughout the year, including a celebration on November 25 to mark the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women. Italian Circanians also participated in Milan Pride on June 29. They had an unforgettable experience and said they were proud to be part of an organization that supports freedom. We look forward to seeing more from this and all our other fantastic DEI volunteers! • Today is International Non-Binary People’s Day, a day to celebrate and acknowledge the diversity of those who identify as non-binary. Non-binary individuals do not identify exclusively as male or female, or may identify as both. This day highlights the importance of recognizing and respecting identities beyond the traditional gender binary. Read about the workplace experiences of three non-binary people, shared by Workplace Pride here: https://lnkd.in/g9jaHx88 Learn more about nonbinary identities and how to be a good ally to members of the community here: https://lnkd.in/e5A4a3EF #InternationalNonBinaryDay

National Aborigines and Islanders Day Observance Committee (NAIDOC) Week is being celebrated across Australia this week! Originating in the 1920s with the rise of Aboriginal advocacy groups, NAIDOC Week aims to raise awareness about the status and treatment of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Australians. This year’s theme, “Keep The Fire Burning: Blak, Loud and Proud,” celebrates First Nations Australian identity and heritage. It invites all Australians to engage in meaningful dialogue, honoring the wisdom and contributions of First Nation people. NAIDOC Week is an opportunity for us to reflect on our own practices and continue our efforts to support and celebrate Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures within our team and community. • Keti Koti, celebrated in the Netherlands, Suriname, Sint Maarten, Sint Eustatius, Saba, Aruba, Bonaire, and Curacao on July 1, means ‘broken chains’ in Sranantongo. This day commemorates the abolition of slavery in Suriname and the Antilles in 1863. However, despite this official abolition in 1863, those who were previously enslaved had to continue working on plantations for another ten years. Keti Koti is a powerful reminder of resilience and the journey toward freedom. It is a time for reflection and joy, recognizing the end of a dark era and celebrating cultural heritage. All of our colleagues in Circana Netherlands have the day off, so they can celebrate with their friends and family as they choose to. • Every July, we celebrate #DisabilityPrideMonth, celebrating and reclaiming the visibility of the history and achievements of people with disabilities and chronic illness. This month began to mark the anniversary of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), which is now celebrated in the United States, United Kingdom, South Africa, and many other countries. It connects to a larger movement for disability justice and serves as a reminder that it is everyone’s responsibility to create a more accessible and inclusive world. Discover more about Disability Pride Month through The Arc of the United States, the largest community-based organization in the U.S. advocating for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) and supporting them and their families: https://lnkd.in/gcyjGRsp. Throughout this year, we’re building our allyship capabilities at Circana through our Allyship in the Workplace program. This month, we’re sharing specific tips on disability allyship — see a great collection of tips in this fantastic article by Ariane Resnick: https://lnkd.in/gFuDyD6p. Let’s continue to break down barriers to inclusion and champion policies that prohibit discrimination. #CircanaDEI

  • In honor of #Pride, we’re recognizing LGBTQ+ Circana employees and allies on our social channels this month! This week, we’re spotlighting Kristen Classi-Zummo. What does Pride mean to you? To me, Pride signifies an unwavering commitment to being an active ally for my LGBTQ+ friends, colleagues, and the community. It goes beyond verbal support or emotional solidarity — it means dedicating my time, energy, and resources to truly doing the work. This includes educating myself on LGBTQ+ issues, amplifying their voices, challenging heteronormative biases, and taking tangible steps each day to create a more inclusive world where LGBTQ+ individuals can thrive authentically without discrimination. Being an ally is an ongoing journey of learning, unlearning, growing, and living my values of acceptance, compassion, and justice. Pride reminds me to continually examine my own prejudices and show up not just with words, but through tireless action and solidarity. #CircanaCelebratesPride
