ExxonMobil is proud to be expanding our lower greenhouse gas emission fuels offer, introducing renewable diesel products and blends in multiple markets. Congratulations to the New Zealand team on their first Mobil Ethos+ Renewable Diesel R20 delivery to its long time customer, HW Richardson Group’s Allied Petroleum! #ExxonMobil #Exxon #Mobil #LandFuels #RenewableDiesel #R20 #NewZealand
📢 Mobil has delivered its first-ever shipment of Renewable Diesel R20 to its longtime customer, HW Richardson Group’s Allied Petroleum, expanding its lower-emission fuel offer globally to Aotearoa New Zealand. Mobil Ethos+ Renewable Diesel R20 is made with minimum 20% renewable content - hydrotreated vegetable oil (HVO) refined from used cooking oil, while still delivering great protection and cleaning power for diesel engines with Mobil’s proprietary Synergy(TM) additive. The renewable ingredient in Mobil Ethos+ Renewable Diesel R20 helps deliver an estimated 15.4%* lower life cycle greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions compared to conventional diesel and can be used in most modern diesel engines with no modifications required**. This batch of renewable diesel blend has been made from the first cargo of International Sustainability & Carbon Certification (ISCC) certified HVO that has ever been delivered to Aotearoa New Zealand. Mobil Oil New Zealand Limited is certified under the ISCC EU Scheme. ISCC’s mission is to reduce GHG emissions and establish sustainable production with certified, traceable supply chains from the origin to the final***. Mobil Ethos+ Renewable Diesel R20 is currently available to select commercial customers. (*) The estimated reduction in life cycle greenhouse gas emissions, also referred to as Carbon Intensity (CI), is based on a comparison of Mobil Ethos+ Renewable Diesel R20 (used cooking oil based renewable diesel) to conventional diesel using the United States GREET 2023 rev1 model estimates to compare the life cycle emissions of each fuel. Actual results may vary. (**) Suitable for use in most modern diesel engines certified to use CAN/CGSB 3.520, ASTM D975, EN15940 specifications fuel. Verify fuel compatibility with your vehicle owner's manual or by contacting your vehicle manufacturer. (***) Refer to ISCC website: www.iscc-system.org #RenewableDiesel #MobilOilNewZealand

Alex Freer, Fuel Sustainability Advisor at ExxonMobil, explains lifecycle greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions estimates of renewable diesel and how they depend on several factors. These factors include the feedstock used for production, the fuel it is being compared with and the GHG emission calculation methodology or model employed, as calculation methodologies also vary by jurisdiction.
