What an exciting start to Fall Meeting in Las Vegas yesterday! We're looking forward to two more days of engaging content from brightest minds in the industry. Share your experiences using #ULIFALL and tag the Urban Land Institute and ULI Washington!
Our #FallMeeting kicked off in Las Vegas with powerful insights from Simon Sinek and ULI leaders! Simon reminded us that culture = values + behavior, urging us to focus on our ‘why’ to spark passion in everything we do. We also welcomed ULI’s new Global CEO Angela Cain to the stage, along with Global Chair Diane J. Hoskins, FAIA, NCARB, ULI Nevada Chair Debra March, and Managing Partner at Archere Investment Management Lynn King-Tolliver. Together, they highlighted ULI’s commitment to learning from each other and building a better future. 🌆 They emphasized how hospitality and entertainment are powerful economic engines, with Las Vegas as the perfect place to see this in action! Last night, ULI Washington hosted the Gateway to ULI Washington event at the University of the District of Columbia for students, alumni, and participants in their CAUSES program. Attendees had the chance to learn about ULI Washington, the real estate industry, and valuable career insights from an impressive panel: Marcel Acosta, Irene Kwon, and Ellen Klasson, moderated by Anna McCorvey, RA. The panel shared expertise on topics like networking, building an effective job search, and critical skills for new graduates. After the panel presentation and Q&A, students joined roundtable discussions with panelists, committee members, and volunteers, allowing for one-on-one conversations that addressed individual questions. Students walked away with practical advice on positioning themselves as competitive job applicants, enhancing their online presence, and the value of professional memberships Thank you to the DEI Committee for organizing such an impactful event! #ULIWashington #GatewaytoULI #CareerDevelopment #DEI #RealEstateIndustry #Networking Committee Members: Inthia Bowman-Ruffin, Stephanie Cummings, MBA, Vinita Phonseya, Anna McCorvey, Mayda Colon, Dr. Lutheria Peters, PhD, MPH, MS, CSPO, CSM, Patrice Jennings-Dixon - KQM Enterprises Principal Partner Volunteers: Rhonda McLendon, ARM, Jesenia Beltre

The Commercial Office Local Product Council (a.k.a. CoCo) brought together national experts from the office conversion and economic development world to share their cities’ success stories and plans for re-invigorating their downtowns. Thank you so much to Thom Mahler from the City of Calgary, Robert Holbrook from the Office of the Mayor of New York City, Emily Thrun from the City of Chicago, and Jennifer Ramsey from the City and County of Denver for offering tremendous insights, and to Council member Tracy Hadden Loh for deftly moderating this conversation. We are tremendously grateful for the leadership of council chairs Mandi Wedin and Robert Peck, and are thrilled to keep innovating for the future of the office/commercial product locally.
