My therapy treatment methods include: person-centered, systemic, behavioral, assigned readings, strategic, and brief. Ideally, for effective treatment, my clients are willing to attend therapy on a regular basis and are willing to be open and honest.

I have been a clinical therapist since 2010. I have my Masters of Social Work from UNCW. I have worked in many areas of social work and therapy including with families and children, adults, and various areas of mental health. Welcome to my practice! I am a psychotherapist in Athens, GA working with individuals 18 and older experiencing anxiety and depression related to identity development, relationship stress, career/academic shifts, current events, acute and chronic health concerns, and/or life transitions. Overwhelm, mood changes, and even apathy can be signs that we've exhausted our available coping resources and need a new approach to define our sense of self and our place in the world. I aim to provide safe and supportive space for you to explore your emotions, develop coping skills, achieve goals, and navigate life transitions with confidence.

I am passionate about working with people that are either hesitant to start therapy, or who have had a negative experience working with a therapist in the past. I am a licensed clinical psychologist in Georgia with eight years of clinical experience. I am fully bilingual and can provide therapy in both English and Spanish. Most of my work is treating anxiety-related disorders, OCD, and working with LGBTQ+ communities. The therapy models I work with are Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Mindfulness, Affirmative Therapy (LGBTQ+ communities), Exposure to Response Prevention (ERP), and Supportive Therapy. Brandy typically focuses on the relationship and psychoeducation and uses encouragement. Her goal is to encourage growth and for clients to understand their power to change; for them to gain awareness through psychoeducation; and for them to be able to apply information and insight to their situation.

All of us have certain thoughts and behaviors that are unhealthy and at times can even be destructive or keep us stuck. My ideal client lives in Georgia or South Carolina and needs a mental health evaluation, psychological evaluation, immigration evaluation, brief therapy, or brief life coaching. My client may need an assessment for court due to legal charges, for divorce litigation, or for administrative immigration proceedings. I provide evaluations and life coaching via private pay. For my therapy clients, I accept Aetna, BCBS, Cigna, United Healthcare, Oscar Health, Oxford insurances. All services are provided via telehealth.
