#Digital connectivity underpins every facet of the industry. Not only is it a key enabler in the transition to #renewable #energy, but #utilities from all sectors are leaning on emerging technologies to streamline their operations and maintenance, improve their #disaster #resilience and meet changing customer needs. It’s a race against time to keep up with demand, and Australia needs #fibre #networks that are future-proof and capable of cost-effective evolution as #innovation, #technology and bandwidth requirements grow.  But Australia is also one of the most sparsely populated countries in the world, and this network needs to cover vast distances, reach both urban and extremely remote locations, and tackle harsh climatic conditions. To meet these challenges, Service Stream created a specialised Network Infrastructure team to take on major telecommunications projects across the nation. We went behind the scenes with the team's General Manager, Sean Bryan, who took us through just how the company's innovative approach has enabled it to take on some of the biggest and most complex connectivity projects in the country.

  • We were immensely proud to support nbn® Australia Australia and Prime Minister Anthony Albanese announce funding for the final stage of the Fibre to the Node network upgrades last week.   Thanks to the investment from the Australian Government of up to $3 billion, these newly announced upgrades will enable more than 620,000 homes and businesses, more than half in regional Australia, to access nbn's fastest upload and download speeds. Works will begin now and are expected to be completed by the end of 2030.   Service Stream has been providing specialist planning, design and construction services to nbn on their Fibre to the Node network upgrade programs, including the current N2P Evolution Program. This program of works is providing eligible premises with progressive access to Fibre to the Premises (FTTP) technology – a program designed to extend access to high-speed internet further into Australian communities.   Service Stream supported this recent announcement by providing a suitable site to hold the press conference. Media crews attended the site in Belconnen, near Canberra, to record footage demonstrating the works being undertaken as part of this program.   A big shout out goes to Pete Dempsey, State Manager NSP NSW, and his team for all their efforts to help make this happen, and the entire Telco team for their ongoing work on this important program for nbn and their customers.   #KeepingCommunitiesConnected #nbn #fasterinternet Sean Bryan Kevin Smith

  • Our South Australia Transport team welcome two new hybrid vehicles to their fleet proudly promoting our Reconciliation artwork.   By swapping to the hybrid powered RAV4, the contract will reduce their annual emissions by approximately 50% for these vehicles when compared to the previous vehicle type being used. Importantly, vehicle performance and reliability is expected to be maintained - especially important in outback South Australia.   “We are delighted to receive delivery of these two new hybrid vehicles into our fleet here in South Australia. Not only do they demonstrate our commitment to reducing emissions throughout our operation, they also reflect our commitment to Reconciliation through the display of our Service Stream RAP artwork,” says Frank Medve, Contract Manager SA Transport Operations.   Service Stream provides essential road maintenance and asset management services across the South Australia Outback Zone, covering approximately 9,000 km of roads, including over 1,200kms of remote road network across the Anangu Pitjantjatjara Yankunytjatjara (APY) Lands in far northwest South Australia.   #KeepingCommunitiesConnected #emissionreduction #sustainability #reconciliation
