🚌 Autonomous mobility on tarmac? Today we unveiled our autonomous shuttle to the public! After 1 month of tests, we made our Stargate electric shuttle available to the Brussels Airport staff for 3 months of intensive tests on tarmac—a first in Belgium. Gruber Logistics wins "Il Logistico dell'anno" in the Innovation category. This recognition was awarded for our groundbreaking work on the MODI Project, a #European initiative aimed at accelerating the introduction of Connected, Cooperative, and Automated Mobility (#CCAM) solutions to enhance logistics chains. For this project, we work strongly in the city of Hamburg and along the corridor from Rotterdam to Oslo. In Hamburg, our truck, equipped with advanced external devices, conducted a digital scan of the city route, collecting crucial data on interactions with the surroundings. This data will help optimize the physical and digital infrastructure for highly automated driving. Meanwhile, addressing the driver shortage and improving road freight transport efficiency, we conducted a test run from Rotterdam to Oslo. Our driver navigated through five countries, collecting essential data for future automated driving. We are proud to lead the way in innovation and automation in logistics. We want to thank all partners and team members who made this achievement possible! Various functions and branches of Gruber Logistics participated in the tests, including the innovation - public affairs & sustainability team, the fleet unit, the Lithuanian branch, and the Hamburg branch.
