About us
Headquartered in Vancouver, Canada, Taseko Mines Limited is a dynamic international mining company driven to unlock the true value of copper in North America for its investors, employees, communities, and for the complex changing world. As a leading copper producer, Taseko recognizes and delivers enduring opportunity through developing and operating world-class copper mines and mineral properties in British Columbia and Arizona. Taseko’s corporate strategy is to grow the company sustainably and profitably by focusing on the continued operations of the Company’s foundational asset, the Gibraltar Mine, while also developing its pipeline of high-quality advanced- stage development projects. The long-life, low-cost Gibraltar copper mine (75% owned) located in south-central BC, is a state-of-the-art facility that has won numerous environmental and safety awards for operational excellence. It is second largest open pit copper mine in Canada, producing an average of 130 million pounds of copper and 2.5 million pounds of molybdenum per year, and supporting a 700+ person workforce. Taseko is also advancing the Florence Copper project in Arizona – a near-term copper producer with an unparalleled energy, water and GHG profile per unit of production. Florence Copper is a unique ‘in-situ copper recovery’ project which, once in production, will significantly increase Taseko’s annual metal production, delivering a necessary metal our society requires for a low-carbon future. In addition, Taseko also owns the Yellowhead copper project and the Aley niobium project providing the Company with a diverse development opportunity.

Last spring Taseko and Gibraltar, with support from Ensero Solutions , conducted a biological water treatment to reduce nitrate concentrations in Gibraltar’s tailings storage facility (TSF). This innovative, in-situ approach leveraged naturally occurring bacteria in our TSF. It supported, and expanded, on the natural process that was occurring, by providing a carbon food source that accelerated the rate at which the bacteria broke down the nitrates! The project was a resounding success achieving: ✅Rapid reduction in nitrate levels ✅No waste by-products ✅No legacy infrastructure ✅Indigenous and Government support A first of its kind in British Columbia, this program is a testament to Taseko’s commitment to sustainable and innovative solutions in the mining industry. As we have now forged a path for others to permit and implement sustainable water treatment processes within the province of British Columbia, we look forward to seeing others follow in our footsteps. We would like to extend our thanks to all those involved in this project. Adil Cheema, P. Stuart McDonald, Taseko President & CEO, recently spoke with Paul Harris from the Mining Journal. Stuart and Paul discussed the current events occurring at Taseko and what our plans are for the future. Stuart talked about the Company’s recent purchase of the remaining rights to Gibraltar, “By buying out Dowa, we got access to their 30% share of the Gibraltar offtake, and we could remarket that in a very low-cost environment. We achieved negative TCs in 2024 and 2025, whereby the smelter pays us to get our concentrates, which is unprecedented.” To read the full article please see the link here: https://bit.ly/3Y7j6J9 #copper #Gibrltarmine

Taseko has published its annual Sustainability Report, titled H20 + ESG. The report focuses on the Company’s operational and sustainability achievements at the Gibraltar Mine in 2023, and also highlights social and economic contributions from the Florence Copper project in Arizona, which will soon become the Company’s second operating asset. Taseko’s 2023 Sustainability Report also highlights several significant initiatives underway across the Company to conserve and reuse water, and to achieve water management objectives. This includes a pioneering in-situ biological water treatment initiative undertaken at the Gibraltar mine last year – part of a long-term water management program that has achieved a 77% reduction in free water stored in the mine’s tailings storage facility over the past decade. Stuart McDonald, President & CEO of Taseko, commented, “We’re proud of Taseko’s sustainability performance, and our continued focus on the issues and opportunities that generate the greatest value for our shareholders, employees and operating communities. Our priority investments in water quality and water conservation initiatives, outlined in this report, are further examples of our approach. These accomplishments would not be possible without the important contributions of our employees and business partners.” To read the full report visit https://lnkd.in/gyNrpmHf #copper #sustainabilityreport #taseko #gibraltarmine #florencecopper

Educating the Future - Taseko's Partnership with MineralsEd Taseko is proud to be a partner in MineralsEd’s Regional Spotlight: A Career in the Mining Industry Series! The initiative is part of Taseko’s ongoing commitment to foster education and career opportunities in the mining sector for young people. Students were invited to Gibraltar for an immersive experience at an operating mine site. This hands-on encounter allowed them to gain a deeper understanding of mining careers. The turnout was exceptional, with Gibraltar hosting 50 students and their teachers from the Cariboo-Chilcotin (SD 27), Quesnel (SD 28), and Barriere (SD 73) school districts.
