Our Talent Acquisition team is a key member of the process to enable us to continuously welcome new members to various functions for Novartis Czech Republic and also worldwide. Together with this team we are preparing Novartis for the future talent needs and are looking into critical skillsets that will help us to deliver on our goal to become the No. 1 Innovative Medicines company globally. Recently, we had the pleasure of hosting Elise Faure, Global Head of Talent Acquisition at our Novartis Corporate Center in Prague. Elise was joined by some of her LT and wider team members who gathered in Prague to discuss the strategic roadmap for Talent Acquisition. They also hosted a global Town Hall connecting with Talent Acquisition colleagues from around the globe to discuss more insights on how in collaboration with other People & Organization (HR) teams, they craft the best approaches for talent engagement, pipelining, sourcing, branding and onboarding. Reflecting on the last quarter, it's clear that Prague remains a key location for Novartis globally. Just before the end of the school year, our Parenting and Green ERGs organized an educational and hands-on event called "Protect Our Planet, Preserve Our Future." The event was designed to raise awareness about nature, sustainability, and community, and also to inspire and promote healthy living, while instilling a sense of responsibility towards our planet Earth. It began with an interactive educational session for adults and children, featuring videos and presentations showcasing the wonders of nature and planet Earth. Additionally, we facilitated a panel discussion involving both adults and kids on ways to better preserve nature and the Earth. To add to the enjoyment, we included games and quizzes that engaged the entire audience. The second part of the event focused on a green area cleanup. As Novartis associates, we take pride in caring for our community. Therefore, we organized a clean-up activity in a nearby green area to reduce litter and promote a cleaner, healthier environment. This provided a wonderful opportunity to give back to the community while enjoying an afternoon outdoors with colleagues and their families. We were honored to sponsor a recent roundtable focused on early detection of heart failure, kidney disease, diabetes, and other metabolic risk factors. The discussions centered around the necessity to update the content and frequency of preventive check-ups by general practitioners, the current landscape, and the required changes to the reimbursement decree, patient follow-up, and referrals. Key insights from the discussion included: 1. Revising the Preventive Check-ups Decree: It is essential to have more frequent and comprehensive check-ups to facilitate earlier diagnosis and treatment. 2. Digitalizing Laboratory Data: Streamlining information sharing and ensuring targeted treatment reimbursement. 3. Empowering GPs with Innovative Drug Prescriptions: Faster access to cutting-edge treatments for patients. We sincerely thank all participants in the event including Deputy Minister of Health, Jakub Dvořáček; Prof. Michal Vrablík, President of the Czech Society for Atherosclerosis; MUDr. Petr Šonka, President of the GPs' Association; and other notable experts for their valuable contributions and look forward to the next steps in advancing patient care.

We at Novartis focus on holistic wellbeing of our people and want to achieve an embedded care agenda across the organization by supporting our employee’s mental, physical, and social wellbeing. To contribute to this purpose, Wellbeing ERG in Czech Republic is spreading awareness and importance of mental health & wellbeing while delivering meaningful events, such as Wellbeing Café. The second in-person Wellbeing Café took place this month with a theme "Re-Energize Yourself". The event was filled with refreshing activities, stimulating discussions, and inspiring speakers sharing their personal stories and practical takeaways. Highlight of the gathering was to see our employees connecting with each other and enjoying their time while investing to their wellbeing. Our sincere appreciation goes to ERG Wellbeing volunteering group, Ulpukka Sillanmäki & Barbara Pikl for their ongoing commitment in fostering these initiatives within our organisation. We as NOCC are bringing stability to the company through value adding solutions as we play our part in reimagining medicine. We strongly believe in the power of partnership and teamwork to overcome the most formidable challenges. This belief was not only reflected in our June site-wide event, #NOCCPrague Connect, but it was also the central theme of the event. Our aim of this event also was to foster closer connections among our site's employees, by intertwining personal relationships with valuable business insights. During the event, we organized activities that brought people together, facilitated introductions among colleagues from different departments, and encouraged meaningful interactions. The inclusion of speed networking, Bingo, and the thought-provoking game "Would You Rather..." created an engaging and enjoyable atmosphere, allowing for the open exchange of thoughts and ideas. In our series on People at Novartis, we would like to introduce Soňa Vedralová. Sona joined Novartis Czech Republic in February 2019 for her second tenure with the company, taking on the role of Commercial Excellence & Operations Manager. Her journey here has encompassed diverse business environments, particularly in marketing and sales roles which have allowed her to learn a lot. Sona has recently started a new assignment for the SERCE cluster in March as the BE&E Lead, where she will be fostering organizational focus on performance through strategic initiatives and innovative approaches. Sona is a tremendous team member who excels at strategic thinking and effortlessly manages a heavy workload. Her dedication extends beyond the office, as she is also a devoted mother of two. Balancing her professional responsibilities with her family commitments, Sona demonstrates remarkable prowess in both areas of her life. Well done, Sona :)
