🌳 Our colleagues at Audi China are advancing the biodiversity campaign with a new guidebook. Designed for Beijing's urban residents, the guidebook aims to increase people's understanding of ancient trees and guide readers toward a more scientific approach to viewing and protecting these natural treasures. It also provides readers with 17 destinations, encouraging urban residents to engage with these gems for those interested in seeing them in person. 📖 "The launch of the guide serves as a concrete extension and interpretation of Audi's global 'Mission: Zero' program. At Audi China, we are committed to fulfilling our pledge to preserve biodiversity, recognizing it as an essential measure in taking action for a sustainable future," said Johannes Roscheck, President of Audi China. Nice to know: Ancient trees are not only part of nature's diverse ecosystems, but also play an irreplaceable role in carbon fixation, oxygen release, soil and water conservation, ecological balance and biodiversity protection. 🧭💚 Let’s protect the roots of nature while exploring their beauty!

🚗 Our colleagues at Volkswagen have reached a new efficiency milestone! The Volkswagen ID.7 Pro S drove an incredible distance: 941 kilometres on a single #battery charge! The standard ID.7 Pro S with no technical modifications consumed just 9.2 kWh/100 km in this #efficiency drive which took place on the famous #Nardo test track in southern Italy. 🔋 The test drive with the new ID.7 Pro S was completed in December 2024 by Volkswagen Driving Experience pro drivers on the Low Speed Ring in Nardò at ambient temperatures of 5 to 15 degrees Celsius. The 12.5-kilometre circuit enables a wide range of traffic scenarios and endurance tests to be simulated effectively. The average speed during the efficiency test was 29 km/h, which corresponds to typical rush hour speeds in large cities. According to the latest “Traffic Index” from navigation specialist TomTom, this figure ranges from 22 km/h (Hamburg) to 31 km/h (Amsterdam). 🗨️ Martin Sander, member of the Board of Management responsible for Sales, Marketing and After Sales at Volkswagen:  “We are seeing a positive trend in incoming orders in #Europe and are currently selling more ID.7 models than Passat. This shows that the ID.7 is a meaningful all-electric addition to the brand’s product portfolio. In addition to our successful Passat, it is also suitable for long distance drivers and as a company car.” #Volkswagen #EnterElectric #Innovation #sustainability #efficiency #ID7ProS #941km

Moving forward with a clear vision: amidst the largest #transformation in our company's history, CEO Oliver Blume discusses the challenges and opportunities facing the Volkswagen Group. His medium-term goal is to turn the company into a leading automotive tech player. "The company's situation remains challenging, and the environment has been rapidly changing," Oliver Blume said in a recent interview. Despite this, the CEO of Volkswagen Group remains optimistic. About Volkswagen Group future plan "2024 was marked by crucial strategic decisions regarding software governance, our #China strategy, our brands, costs, production capacities, and structures. Everyone in the Group worked very hard, and there's still plenty to be done. However, I am confident that our commitment and team spirit will pay off. We are making progress with the new positioning of our company, which makes me optimistic about the future." About the situation on the global markets "Competition in the #automotive industry has increased significantly. Many international competitors have much lower costs, creating immense price pressure. The European market has shrunk considerably, meaning more supply and less demand. The business environment in China has undergone some fundamental structural changes. That’s why we are implementing extensive programs to strengthen our competitiveness and financial robustness." About the new collective bargaining agreements "The negotiations’ outcome is a tough but necessary adjustment, yet it is both appropriate and fair. The good news is that we have found a solid and socially acceptable solution making us fit for the future. Now, the real work begins as we implement the agreement we jointly achieved. This will help us steer the Volkswagen brand and our Group towards a stable and sustainable future." About the wave of new models from all brands "Only last year, we introduced more than 30 new models across all brands. We are receiving outstanding feedback from media and customers. We have refined #design and measurably improved quality. The model offensive continues this year: we will present our customers around 30 new cars — more than any other manufacturer." About software as the key to success "We have restructured, realigned, and further developed our software capabilities. At the same time, we have launched a global software strategy, including partnerships with companies like Rivian and XPENG in addition to CARIAD. The software in our vehicles will be a key to success for the Group. We are on the right track and are making great progress. Some nice examples are already on the road: the Volkswagen ID.7, the AUDI AG Q6 e-tron, and the new Porsche AG Macan have already got top ratings."

2025 marks the 80th anniversary of the liberation of the Auschwitz-Birkenau concentration camp. At the Wolfsburg plant, the Volkswagen Group commemorated this somber milestone with a wreath-laying ceremony attended by board members, the Works Council, and employees. As part of the remembrance, the company’s archives forum presents an adaptation of the exhibition “Flashes of Memory”, curated by Yad Vashem, the World Holocaust Remembrance Center. Previously shown at the Berlin Museum of Photography, the public exhibition examines the Holocaust’s visual documentation from three perspectives: German perpetrators, Jewish victims, and liberators. It highlights the role of photography in shaping our understanding of these atrocities 🗨️ Oliver Blume, CEO of Volkswagen Group: ‘80 years ago today, the extermination camp in Auschwitz-Birkenau was liberated. We commemorate the millions of victims who were systematically humiliated, expelled, mistreated, and murdered by the National Socialist regime. Then as now, anti-semitism, racism, and discrimination must have no place in our world. It is up to all of us, to resolutely oppose every form of contempt for humanity.’

🚗🔋 Our colleagues at Škoda Auto have kicked off production of the Elroq, the fully electric compact SUV, at the Mladá Boleslav plant. The Elroq enters many European markets as the most affordable EV in its segment, taking into account its battery size and extensive standard equipment. It is produced on the same assembly line with the new Enyaq and the Octavia, allowing us to adapt quickly to customer demand.  With over 20,000 orders until the end of 2024, the Elroq is off to a strong start. 🗨️ Andreas Dick, Škoda Auto Board Member for Production and Logistics, shared: “The production launch of our new Elroq compact SUV at our main plant is a great accomplishment for the entire team. I would like to thank all my colleagues for their dedication in preparing for this milestone... By producing this key model at our headquarters, we are reaffirming the crucial strategic role of the Mladá Boleslav plant as the heart of our brand.” #Škoda #ŠkodaElroq #EnterElectric

Our colleagues at Volkswagen have done the math: Their all-electric ID.4 Pro* offers clear CO₂ benefits compared to a similar vehicle with a combustion engine (ICE). A lifecycle assessment reviewed by TÜV Nord found that while the ID.4 Pro* has higher CO₂ emissions during production, these are offset during the use phase. This effect is even greater when charged exclusively with green electricity. Take a look at the key numbers: 💚 A better carbon footprint after around 66,000 km with green power compared to ICE (around 97,000 km with the EU power mix). 💚 Around 50% CO₂ savings over its entire life when charged with green electricity (EU mix). 💚 Around 25% CO₂ reduction when charged with the conventional EU power mix. The full lifecycle assessment covers CO₂ savings potential of a vehicle across the entire lifecycle - from the raw material extraction to production, use, and dismantling for subsequent recycling, comparing the ID.4 Pro* and a diesel model over 200,000 km in the WLTP test cycle.   * ID.4 Pro with 210 kW- Combined power consumption 15.8 kWh/100 km; combined CO₂ emissions 0 g/km; CO₂ class: A.

🟢 Esbjerg / Denmark, Helsinki / Finland, and Cologne / Germany. For district heating, the municipal energy providers in these three European cities are switching to mega-size heat pumps. All of them are made by our colleagues at MAN Energy Solutions. How come? The answer is simple: heat pumps are one of the most practical ways of lowering heating costs and CO2 emissions.  Check some figures from the examples mentioned above: ♻️ Esbjerg: the local energy provider, DIN Forsyning, started operations of their 70 MW-pump in November of 2024. Combined with additional systems, the whole plant saves about 120,000 tons of CO2, annually. ♻️ Helsinki: the 35 MW-installation, run by Helen Sähköverkko Oy, will start in 2026, saving 26,000 tons CO2, annually. ♻️ In Cologne, RheinEnergie AG, is investing 280 Mio. EUR to save 100K tons of CO2 per year. Starting in 2027, Europe’s largest river-heat-pump will start operations with 150 MW. Gunnar Kilian, member of the board of management of Volkswagen AG, human resources and trucks: "The passion and expertise that go into all of these projects is truly impressive. It is also clear that #climate protection and #innovations go hand in hand." But heat pumps are catching up, overseas, too: In the USA, Vicinity Energy will start operations in 2028 with America’s largest heat pump, made by MAN.
