WHO issues new guideline to tackle acute malnutrition in children under five. Key recommendations focus on: ✔Child-centred approach and of caring for mothers and their infants as an interdependent pair; ✔Breastfeeding and access to nutrient-dense home diets are a critical component of both prevention and management; and ✔Community health workers can play an important role in providing evidence-based care for children with acute malnutrition. 📖 More info here: 👇 https://lnkd.in/ee6p6jUz

Guidance on regulatory measures aimed at restricting digital marketing of breast-milk substitutes📘 #Digital #environments are fast becoming the #predominant source of exposure to #promotion of #breastmilk #substitutes globally. Digital marketing amplifies the reach and power of #advertising and other forms of promotion in digital #environments, and #exposure to digital marketing increases the #purchase and #use of breast-milk substitutes. In light of this #evidence, the Seventy-fifth World Health Assembly requested that WHO develop guidance for Member States on regulatory measures aimed at #restricting the #digital #marketing of breast-milk substitutes.
