Returning to a completed project a few years after handover is always rewarding, seeing how spaces are truly lived in. The Woodland Nursery and Forest School at Staffordshire University was no exception, full of energy with children exploring every corner. With spring in the air and sunshine overhead, it was the perfect setting for a tour with the RIBA West Midlands jury. This net zero carbon nursery follows nature’s lead to create a sustainable learning environment. We're proud to be shortlisted and look forward to the award announcements later this Spring. https://lnkd.in/eNk-nk4a Max Fordham LLP University of Staffordshire Iain Shaw

Paradise isn’t just a workplace. It's a new way of working. Built with purpose, designed for impact, and shaped by the people who bring it to life, Paradise is redefining what it means to work with the city, not just in it. This isn’t another glass box. It’s a workspace that breathes, rooted in biophilic design, powered by smart tech, and built for collaboration. Because buildings should do more than hold businesses. They should spark ideas, support wellbeing, and leave a lasting legacy for people and planet. More than a workplace. Paradise is a movement. 🌿 Watch how we built Paradise with purpose.👇 Knight Frank Ingleby Trice LLP Cushman & Wakefield Feilden Clegg Bradley Studios (FCBStudios)

Great case study on Shrewsbury Flaxmill Maltings here, showing how heritage can drive regeneration through collaboration, creativity, and care for place. A powerful example of the past reimagined for a sustainable future. Read full article here: https://lnkd.in/eDTKyMM8
Can heritage really drive regeneration? In Shrewsbury, it already has. Once a derelict industrial site, Shrewsbury Flaxmill Maltings is now a vibrant community and commercial hub — and a powerful case study in how collaboration can breathe new life into historic places. In the latest issue of Public Notice, we explore how Historic England and Shropshire Council transformed the world’s first iron-framed building into sustainable workspace, public cultural space, and a low-carbon exemplar for adaptive reuse. “Collaboration has been a recurring theme throughout this process...” – Claire Evans, Senior Programme Officer, Shropshire Council With 110 historic windows reopened, ground-source heating installed, and new jobs created, this is a model for regeneration done right — with plans for high-density housing by Peter Barber Architects now linking the site back to the wider town. Read the full article online: https://lnkd.in/eDTKyMM8 Or order a copy of Public Notice for more stories like this: https://lnkd.in/eZUf4pzg Thank you's in the comments to all involved. #Heritage #Regeneration #Placemaking #UrbanDevelopment #Shrewsbury

GreenPlace with Feilden Clegg Bradley Studios (FCBStudios) co-hosted a thought-provoking and practical discussion with CRE industry leaders last week, focusing on the future of decarbonisation in real estate. It was an honour to have Paul Ruyssevelt of The Bartlett, UCL's Faculty of the Built Environment and Philip Parnell of Deloitte as our keynote speakers. Along with our guests: Alexia Laird of Landsec, Andrew Allen, Chloe Soar of BlackRock, Joe Jack Williams of Bywater Properties, Kate Sandle of Newcore Capital, Tom Wade of Derwent London, Victor Ghitescu of Pantokrator. This event was kindly hosted at the offices of Feilden Clegg Bradley Studios (FCBStudios) and we heard from Ian Taylor, Tim den Dekker, and Geoff Rich on how their firm is at the cutting edge of low-carbon building design The key takeaways included: 🔹 Valuation & ESG: Transparency and disclosure are evermore essential in property valuations. There’s no "green premium"—just pricing differentials. There was discussion on whether obsolescence is emerging as an important metric in valuation and investment appraisal. 🔹 The Power of Data: Advanced analytics, data-driven digital twins, and real-time building insights are reshaping how we measure, manage, and optimise efforts. 🔹 Market Signals: Investors are looking for market pricing and risk signals, combined with data-driven insights to make objective investment decisions. This can support better acquisition, disposal and retrofitting actions, RoI and carbon reduction. GreenPlace also took this opportunity to profile our new software platform, designed to help real estate professionals integrate financial and carbon impact analysis seamlessly—enabling smarter, faster decisions.
