Reflections on MIPIM 2025: Key Takeaways from an Inspiring Week Another MIPIM has come and gone, and what a week it was! From the launch of the ULI/PwC Emerging Trends in Real Estate® Global Outlook 2025 to conversations on city competitiveness, sustainability, and investment in the built environment, it was fantastic to see so many industry leaders coming together to share ideas and tackle the big challenges shaping our cities. Some of the key themes that stood out: | City competitiveness is evolving – governance, infrastructure, and liveability are now front and centre. | Sustainability and climate resilience are no longer optional – they’re fundamental to investment decisions. | Optimism is returning to real estate – but investors remain cautious in an uncertain world. | Real estate and infrastructure are more connected than ever – with data centres, energy, and digitalisation driving new opportunities. Hearing from industry experts like Lisette Van Doorn, Abigail Dean, David Steinbach, and Raimondo Amabile, as well as leaders such as Dr Mario Draghi and Mayor of London, Sadiq Khan, reinforced the importance of collaboration in shaping the future of real estate. If you couldn’t make it to Cannes, or want to revisit the highlights, we’ve wrapped up the key takeaways in our latest blog. Read it here: https://lnkd.in/ecyuGqMg What were your biggest insights from MIPIM this year? Was the real estate industry getting ahead of itself with its 'Staying Alive Until 2025' mantra? 🔵 Hopes for a rebound pinned to normalising monetary policy have been tempered over the first months of the year by #geopolitics. 🔵  Tariffs, new complications in Ukraine, and Germany and EU ramping up defence spending means political risk — and its economic consequences — are weighing on investment appetite, according to a new global survey by Urban Land Institute and PwC. 🔵 It's not all grim though — capital deployment is picking up, deals have been paused but still closing, and some say 2026 was always the rebound goal. Full story in comments below 👇🏽 With insights at MIPIM from Simon Chinn, Mark E. Rose, Ben Sanderson, Mark Allnutt and more...

  • It’s been a busy week for our Young Leader and NEXT members at MIPIM!   From a gathering aboard Deepki’s sailboat, where conversations centred around accelerating ESG impact, to a pétanque tournament at the harbour, hosted in partnership with Mokki • Certified B Corporation, our NEXT members had the opportunity to connect, collaborate, and challenge each other, both mentally and on the court.   Meanwhile, our Young Leaders AI Committee, in collaboration with BLOXHUB, hosted an intimate roundtable exploring the impact of AI on cities and their citizens. We can’t wait to see where these conversations will lead.   To top it all off, Young Leaders and NEXT members came together for an evening of networking hosted by PIMCO Prime Real Estate and featuring an exclusive Q&A with Christel Zordan, Chief Executive Officer at Societe de la Tour Eiffel (EIFF).   A huge thank you to all our Young Leader and NEXT members for making this week so memorable. We hope you left with valuable connections and new insights, and we can’t wait to see you at our Young Leader and NEXT Forums taking place during ULI Europe Conference in London. Do you think we’ll have better weather than in Cannes?! Secure your tickets here - https://lnkd.in/dmK2D7b
