Red, white and blue... Now let's clean up too! The San Diego Community Power team spent the morning of July 5 at Surfrider Foundation San Diego County's Morning After Mess, where a group of dedicated volunteers picked up trash leftover from San Diego's busiest beach day of the year, July 4. A big thank you to Surfrider and everyone who helped keep San Diego clean and green!

Our team had a ball at the San Diego Wave Fútbol Club game on Friday! It was a great opportunity to connect with the communities we serve. We were able to share a bit about how San Diego Community Power is powering the San Diego region with cleaner energy and hand out some #sustainable swag that can help keep San Diego clean and green.

I had a wonderful time at the San Diego Regional Economic Development Corporation’s Annual Dinner! It was a great opportunity to connect with leaders in our local community — and an excuse to enjoy an evening at Petco Park, one of the first professional sports stadiums in the United States to be powered by 100% clean energy, courtesy of San Diego Community Power.
Investors, community partners, and friends: Thank you for celebrating San Diego with us at last week's 2024 Annual Dinner! ☀️🎉 San Diego’s continued collaboration toward regional prosperity and global competitiveness would not be possible without you—and our celebration of San Diego's progress would not be possible without our sponsors and partners: Thank you to our underwriter, Point Loma Nazarene University—your continued support and partnership makes this event and our work possible. Thank you to Congressman Scott Peters, Mayor Todd Gloria, and Bob Brower for welcoming our guests, and to Jennie Brooks for her inspiring words and for continuing to serve as EDC's Board Chair. We were honored to recognize our 2024 #SDlifechanging awardees for their work toward an #inclusiveSD: 🏆 Solar Turbines, which has been HQ'd in San Diego for nearly 100 years and employs nearly 5,000 regional employees to design and manufacture industrial turbines—presented by San Diego State University and UC San Diego. 🏆 Retired VADM Jim Zortman, who served as EDC's Board Chair and helped EDC establish inclusive growth as a regional economic imperative—presented by Boston Consulting Group (BCG). A very special thank you to our name badge sponsor Meyers Nave, program sponsor Paul Plevin Quarles, and beverage sponsor University of San Diego. And thank you to our dinner sponsors Aya Healthcare, Burnham Center for Community Advancement, Carrier Johnson + Culture, Gafcon PM-CM LLC, Illumina, Kaiser Permanente, NOVO Brazil Brewing Co., San Diego County Regional Airport Authority, Scripps Health, SDG&E, Sharp HealthCare, Snake Oil Cocktail Company, Snell & Wilmer, and U.S. Bank. Here's to another year of collaboration, innovation, and inclusion—we hope you'll join us again in 2025! ✨ 📸: Mallory Kessel Photography

We had a great time at I Love A Clean San Diego’s Sustainable Solutions Fair! It was inspiring to see so many members of the local community come together to celebrate #sustainability and learn how they can keep their day-to-day clean and green. Our team was there to share easy ways to practice energy efficiency — which you can find on our website at https://lnkd.in/dkyV9KHX

It was a pleasure to join the San Diego Regional Chamber of Commerce for their annual Leadership Delegation to Sacramento. I’m grateful for the opportunity to not only connect with business leaders from across the San Diego region, but also with leaders in Sacramento. Along with my colleagues Ashley Rodriguez, Jen Lebron, and Patrick Welch, I had the opportunity to discuss the issues impacting the communities San Diego Community Power serves and how state officials can best support our region.
