Poised for progress: attending the launch of KUL Airport Collaborative Decision Making (#ACDM). A-CDM is indeed can optimize airport operations, by enhancing the turnaround process and improving flight predictability through real time data exchange for all A-CDM stakeholders. This is just the beginning. Is it truly feasible to integrate the European ACDM philosophy into our operations? For us to ponder. At least we are at the crossroads of collaboration and progress of our aviation industry. Cheers!

Meeting Enrico Letta today in Milan to discuss his landmark report on the Future of the EU Single Market and the way forward - together with our ACI EUROPE President Armando Brunini and our Italian member Assaeroporti - Associazione Italiana Gestori Aeroporti ´s President Carlo Borgomeo. Fully shared views on the centrality of our Single Market and the need to further deepen it to ensure the EU’s resilience and global positioning. Lots of discussions - and alignment - about: i) The relevance of transport and the essential role of air connectivity for citizens (just look at current demand levels!), businesses and communities. Ultimately, this is both about cohesion and competiveness. ii) How our Aviation Single Market needs an effective industrial policy for decarbonisation - think SAF production capabilities & costs and the whole ecosystem & investments required to deploy tomorrow’s zero emission aircraft. iii) How capacity issues are crucial not only in the air (Single European Sky…) but also on the ground - think airport slots reform and long-term planning. With Europe being home to more than 50% of the World’s most congested airports, this is about safeguarding the integrity of our Single Aviation Market. 👀 🛫 In the final session of the #GlobalTBO Symposium, our ED, Andreas Boschen, highlighted the necessity of a TBO roadmap. “We need a roadmap because there are so many elements that have to be implemented by so many #stakeholders. It has to be as simple as possible, comprehensive as necessary,” he said, reminding the audience about the plan to make TBO a reality progressively by 2040, to be outlined in the next edition of European #ATMMasterPlan. 📢 He moderated a panel discussion gathering insights from… 👇🏽 🔹 Pascal Luciani, International Civil Aviation Organization, noted that the European roadmap is advanced and consistent and even ahead of what is in the global air navigation plan (#GANP). He underlined the need for global mandates and sustained #cooperation between Member States. 🔹 From a safety perspective, Luc Tytgat, EASA - European Union Aviation Safety Agency said that the roadmap on the table has real potential since TBO will contribute to reducing conflicts, among other things. The next steps will be the #certification of the technologies in the pipeline to confirm that they are safe and meet the expected #performance requirements. Alignment globally will be critical to overcome fragmentation and ensure #implementation worldwide. 🔹 Steve Bradford - Federal Aviation Administration, agreed with the principles outlined in the European TBO Roadmap, but noted that there are different ways (technologies) to getting there. We need to figure out how to transition to hyper connectivity and the connected aircraft, to overcome artificial barriers and use software to break them down. 🔹 Anna von Groote, EUROCAE, noted that there are standards already available or in the pipeline for TBO that are fit for purpose. The focus now is on establishing even closer links between #SESAR #deployment priorities coming out of the European #ATMMasterPlan campaign and the EUROCAE technical work programme. We need to leverage ICAO’s leadership to ensure global implementation. 🔹 Christine Berg, European Commission, said that frameworks like #SESAR were helping to engage stakeholders both in Europe and globally and build the momentum to advance ATM modernisation. She noted that roll-out takes time and so it is essential that stakeholders stay energised for the duration. She concluded that there are high expectations for a gear change to deliver the changes to keep aviation safe and sustainable. Deploying trajectory based operations technologies in Europe can only bring benefits if a global ICAO mandate exists ; non European carriers fly in the European airspace : airlines will only get benefits if the avionics of all airspace users are contributing to the setting up of a single trajectory definition. A very useful symposium where FAA ,Canada , Japan, Singapore ,… and the military community contributed to enrich the roadmap proposed for the European region

At Schiphol we broke through (our own) CDM performance and predictability ceiling: how did we do it? First and foremost this is through persistent collaboration in the CDM working group under leadership of Yiannis Alexopoulos.
