Under the guidance of Miami-Dade TPO Executive Director, Aileen Bouclé, AICP, TPO staff hosted a Peer Exchange with the East Coast Greenway (ECG) Alliance, bringing together key stakeholders to discuss shared goals, explore potential collaboration opportunities, and showcase local initiatives that have significantly advanced the development of greenways and trails in Miami-Dade County. The ECG Alliance is a nonprofit organization dedicated to developing a 3,000-mile traffic-separated route stretching from Maine to Florida, fostering sustainable transportation, recreation, and regional connectivity.    The Peer Exchange provided a platform to exchange best practices, highlight successful projects, and identify strategies for promoting connectivity, sustainability, and active transportation. The discussions emphasized the importance of partnerships, funding opportunities, and community engagement in building an integrated greenway network that enhances mobility, recreation, and environmental preservation across Miami-Dade County and beyond. With a lot of recent focus on building Biodiversity into new developments, its encouraging to see that our existing urban green spaces are not going to be left behind.

Yesterday, our team attended the Exchange Club "Sustain: Practical Approach to the Built Environment" event, where we explored positive initiatives for a greener planet. Thank you to Stewart Adamson, who represented our company on the panel discussing 'Fire Safety' and its critical importance. Thank you for having us Exchange Club A couple of key points stood out to us: 💡The Waste Hierarchy: Emphasising the importance of preventing, reducing and reusing over recycling. There is immense potential in repurposing our existing building infrastructure, more than many might realise. 💡Innovation in Sustainability: There are numerous innovative solutions available to propel us towards a sustainable future. However, it necessitates creative thinking. How innovative are we in our approach to sustainability within the built environment, or are we being constrained by the same thinking around budgets and timelines?
