Here are 3 big mistakes that people usually make when seeking therapy: 1️⃣ Ignoring Compatibility: Not all therapists are created equal. It's crucial to find someone who you feel comfortable opening up to and who understands your unique needs and goals. 2️⃣ Not Being Prepared: Therapy isn't a one-size-fits-all solution. Before your sessions, take some time to reflect on what you hope to achieve and any specific challenges you want to address. 3️⃣ Expecting Instant Results: Rome wasn't built in a day, and neither is personal growth. Therapy is a journey that takes time, effort, and commitment. Being patient with yourself and trusting the process are KEY to achieving lasting well-being. Progress may be gradual, but every step forward is important! So, if you wish to understand your current situation and how to overcome the obstacles, we invite you to book a FREE consultation with us at https://lnkd.in/gNQSGWrM today! #therapist #trauma #counseling #mentalhealthmatters #anxiety #counselingpsychology #holistichealth #marriagecounseling #marriageadvice #overcomingdepression #neurofeedback #neurofeedbacktherapy #holistichealing #integrative #integrativementalhealth

It's a common misconception that therapist have a magic wand, that after just a few sessions we've managed to solve your problems. I wish I could say that's true and sometimes it may be the case, however one of the biggest reasons you may not be seeing progress in therapy is this belief. If we believe that our problems "just go away" we tend to not actively participate in therapy. Actively participating allows us to see where we have to put in the work to create change/progress alongside your supportive therapist! 🤎📞If you feel stuck and want to create change click the link to my website and schedule a session! ✨ Follow for more tips! #mentalhealth #womenintherapy #anxiety #therapy #latinatherapist

Registered Clinical Psychologist (MSCP, MAHPC, SRP) - Specialized in psychological assessment, diagnosis, and intervention
This is not going to be an easy pill to swallow, especially for those who are adamant about and have unwavered faith in their subscribed therapy modalities. While a particular therapy modality may be helpful, it doesn't necessarily translate to being effective. Many of us understand the saying that there's no one-size-fits-all approach in the mental health field. Unfortunately, however, many still fail to apply this principle in their practices. It's not uncommon for clinicians or centers to approach clients with a preset template for prescribing a specific therapy modality. Regardless of the client's presentation or the context of their problems, it's almost guaranteed that they will receive the same particular therapy. Now hear me out before you start jumping at me. I believe, most, if not all therapy modalities, are developed with the intention to assist and support people who are struggling. However, no modality can fit anyone, anywhere, and anytime. Even well-studied modalities like CBT can have blind spots that require a combination of other modalities to better support clients. With that said, we have to accept the fact that whatever modality we subscribe to may not be that "all-mighty". While some clients present with more than just their primary problems, it's always helpful to do more (i.e., targeting the secondary problems). While it's helpful to provide a certain modality even if it's not targeting the primary problems, the main question is: Is it effective? More specifically, is it feasible under the given circumstances? It's fantastic to work on all angles, such as with the identified patient, their family, and workspaces, but can that actually be done within the time and space constraints we have? Are we simply being overly ambitious? Or are we being blinded by our kindness? It's not wrong to want to do more, but we have to understand that sometimes doing less but targeted can be more effective than doing more but overly general. There's no perfect answer to this question. It's entirely up to our clinical judgment. If we struggle to make an unbiased judgment under any circumstances, it's time to bring this up for supervision. The client's well-being, as measured by their progress, is and should always our main priority. 2 cents. #mentalhealth #mentalhealthprofessionals #psychology #clinicalpsychologist #reflection #learning #thinkthoughts #linkedin

The word "Untwined" reflects the core philosophy of my practice. Life often presents us with complexities, challenges, and knots that can feel overwhelming. Through therapy, we work together to gently untwine those knots, uncovering clarity, resilience, and inner strength. Therapy is not about fixing, but about growth. It's a process of self-discovery, empowerment, and finding your own path forward. With each session, we embark on a journey towards mental well-being, one step at a time. I'm excited to be on this journey with each of you, and I'm here to support you every step of the way. Remember, your well-being matters, and it's never too late to start untwining. 🌟💖 . . . #untwinedtherapy #mentalhealthmatters #healthcare #thoughts #mentalhealthadvocate #awareness #therapyinindia #instagram #psychologist

Common Stressors in the New Year: 🎉 Lofty unsustainable goals 🎉 Pressure to change 🎉 Financial pressure 🎉 Conflict with Others 🎉 Feelings of Comparison and Inadequacy The new year can bring forth a number of stressors for most people. We believe that each situation is unique. We encourage people to slow down and acknowledge the hardships they face. We also encourage people to look at prior intentions and goals and what they have tried in the past before jumping into more of the same commitments that didn't pan out. We remind our clients that they are only human. Sometimes committing to less means we can actually accomplish more. By thoroughly listening for what the problem is when we start therapy, we can hear what the goal is and what has been tried before. Taking time to lay these tracks are some of the imperative elements for sustainable change. Slowing down initially can ironally allow for therapeutic interventions to be utilized much more quickly and effectively. Want to read a full article on this topic? Check out our article about making therapy faster. Ironically when we slow down and are deliberate - we can accomplish much more in less time. Effective therapy needs to be brief–short, and solution focused therapy. https://bit.ly/47DPqEV #newyearstressors #uniqueperspectives #takeyourtime #humanexperience #processingstress #brieftherapycenter #holidayseasonperspective #permissiontofeel #stressrelief #selfcompassion #holidayblogpost #processingemotions#newyearresolutions #problem-solving #BTC #brieftherapycenter #training #therapytools #psychology #solutionfocusedbrieftherapy #mribrieftherapy

"I feel I have a person to talk to who is equally a good therapist". In the recent interview a very famous Youtuber has gone viral on social media. In one of the clips, the creator talked about his experiences with therapy. The negative experiences with therapy would have significantly impacted his willingness to seek further sessions. This also caught my attention and highlights the importance of understanding the distinction between therapy and therapeutic practices for us all. A lot of people like him feel the same way. Travelling, watching movies, talking to your best friend/partner or doing skin care is therapy for them. These activities are necessary and can be therapeutic, however they are not "therapy". Therapy is a structured process conducted by mental health professionals and involves evidence-based interventions and professional guidance. Therapeutic on the other hand are actions and experiences that make us happy and are beneficial for our well-being and self-care, they do not replace the expertise and structured approach provided by professional therapy 🌻 Understanding this difference is extremely crucial and we should value and engage in therapeutic activities for daily well-being but should also recognize when professional therapy is needed for deeper, structured support❤️ I would also appreciate the interviewer who encourages the creator to talk about the importance of "processing" his emotions. This kind of dialogue helps clarify the importance of therapy and underscores the value of professional support in navigating complex emotions and experiences ✨. I would love to hear more views on it :) #selfcare #mentalhealth #therapeutic #wellbeing #misconception

🌟CELEBRATING THE SMALL WINS AND MILESTONES🏆 Witnessing a breakthrough moment with a client in therapy is one of the most rewarding experiences one can have. I'm beaming with happiness and gratitude now as I reflect on a recent session where we accomplished that. Moments like these serve as a constant reminder of the reason I became a therapist in the first place: to support people as they face challenges, achieve successes, and undergo transformations. Witnessing a client overcome challenges, gain understanding, or undergo a change in perspective not only demonstrates their perseverance, but also validates the efficacy of therapy and therapuetic relationships. No matter how small they may seem, celebrate these small victories! These celebrations will serve as a reminder of the influence we can have on one another’s lives when we provide encouragement, understanding, and a secure environment for learning. To all my fellow therapists and mental health professionals, let us continue to celebrate these times that foster growth and resiliency. One breakthrough at a time, we are making a difference together 🌱🤞🏻 #therapists #therapistlife #mentalhealth #mentalhealthmatters #gratitude
