From some actual UK summer weather gracing us, to the beginning of the Euros – there’s been plenty going on. Take a look at what you might’ve missed in June.
Argyll & Bute: As part of our commitment to the #SharedRuralNetwork programme, we’ve built and upgrade 40 masts in Argyll and Bute. Jenni Minto, MSP for Argyll and Bute visited the site and praised our work on improving coverage for the area.
Girls Aloud: We announced an exclusive Priority gig with Girls Aloud at Shepherd’s Bush Empire – which took place last night. Take a look at how the gig went!
Ultimate Plan: O2 launched the very best of its services all in one handy place with their Ultimate Plan offering.
Shannon Ryan: We announced that we have proudly extended our partnership with professional boxer Shannon Ryan who previously worked at our O2 Watford store before turning professional.
Roaming: Bubl has been keeping an eye on all things football this month with the Euros starting in Germany – reminding customers that O2 is the only major UK network provider not to burn customers with EU roaming charges.
Big Ride: Over 200 members of #TeamVirginMediaO2 took on the Big Ride in Belgium in aid of charity Street Child, with Joseph Penfold documenting his trip.
On the 1 July, we announced that we had completed our first phrase of the #SharedRuralNetwork programme – building more sites than any other operator, with our 227th site being Glencoe Mountain Resort – the highest mobile mast in the UK.
We marked National Carers Week (10 – 16 June 2024) across #TeamVirginMediaO2 and shared stories from some of our people who care for loved ones alongside their job roles.
In 2023, our employees collectively took more than 1,300 paid days off work as part of our carers leave policy.
We celebrated Pride Month with #TeamVirginMediaO2 and attended our first London Pride with over 65 Virgin Media O2 attendees. Watch here for a quick snippet of how the day went!
