Supporting students to succeed! As the school year approaches, we know it can be a tough time for families - especially for young people who are struggling with school, feeling disengaged, or uncertain about their future. At Workskil Australia, we’re here to help. During the 2023/24 financial year, we supported 400 students across 18 schools who were at risk of disengaging from their education. Duncan is thriving at Lucivero Plumbing! Despite being a qualified plumber, Duncan had been unemployed since 2019 and was secretly struggling with addiction and mental health issues. Duncan sought support from Workskil Australia. His Employment Coach provided ongoing guidance, assisting with appointments, Allied Health activities, and referrals to external drug and alcohol counselling. After rebuilding his confidence and working on himself, Duncan began attending job expos and completed First Aid training. He was quickly offered a local position with Lucivero Plumbing in Port Pirie, SA. Duncan was offered ongoing employment on the spot and started the following week. Now employed since August 2024, Duncan is loving his new role and the mix of indoor/outdoor and physical work he gets to do.
