Today, our team visited Ibanda Primary School to kickstart a training program for pre-school teachers. Our goal? To transform their public pre-class into a play-based learning environment! Did you know that 57% of pre-primary teachers in low-income countries lack training? 😔 That's why we're here! By providing comprehensive support, we're empowering these teachers to create engaging classrooms for their little learners. Through play-based learning, we're making education a magical adventure, where children can explore, imagine, and grow. The latest global report from WHO-UNICEF indicates a concerning pattern in vaccination coverage. 1. Stagnation in vaccination coverage has been observed. 2. The number of zero dose children has risen from 13.9 million in 2022 to 14.5 million in 2023. 3. Despite advancements in recent years, countries in WHO AFRO are responsible for 36% of zero dose children. This trend could have a negative impact on the achievement of SGDs. Urgent attention is needed to address barriers to increased vaccination coverage, such as conflicts, vaccine hesitancy, and lack of access to health services. Did you know that 15% of children in Tanzania are out of school? https://lnkd.in/e9dHiK3t In Luchelele Ward, Mwanza Region, kids face long distances to school, and low-income families struggle with childcare costs. At TECEC, we're committed to addressing these challenges by supporting early learning and care services to vulnerable communities. Exciting news! We plan to support existing community based daycares and reach more children aged 3-5 years, who are unable to travel 2-5 km to public preschool classes.
