Wahey! Goes to show you shouldn't judge a book by its cover...despite appearances, these guys are geniuses! Well done #TeamAsbri Team Captain Pete Sulley for leading his band of brain-boxes to victory for a third-time. Great work George Milburn, Geraint Jones and Dylan Green. Thanks Bellway Homes and The Black Lion for a great evening in aid of Cancer Research UK (CRUK).
Yet again, the Bellway Homes Wales team and external colleagues made our latest Cancer Research UK (CRUK) Pub Quiz a fantastic evening of fun and fundraising. Total raised still to be confirmed but many thanks to everyone who took part, donated raffle prizes or bought raffle tickets. Congratulations to Asbri Planning for winning for the third time and The Black Lion Llandaff for hosting us. Great work Dylan Green and the team. #Tourism #Planning #TeamAsbri
A much-needed boost to the tourism industry in Porthcawl and Bridgend. This planning approval for rooklandscaravanandcamping will play a vital role in driving economic growth and prosperity in Porthcawl and will help to meet the demand for holiday accommodation in the area which has been consistently high but unfortunately, it has seen a decline over the past decade. Rooklands Leisure Park will offer premier-style lodges providing superior self-catering accommodation for families and groups in a sustainable and well-landscaped natural environment. A positive result for Asbri Planning and the design team: Architect: CFW ARCHITECTS (Jeff Murray) Landscape: Tir Collective (Emma Hayes) Engineering: Michael Aubrey Transport: Acstro (Alun Rees) Ecology: Spectrum Ecology (Daniel Lock) Arboricultural: ArbTS - Trees & Planning - South Wales (Stephen Lucocq - Tree Consultant - South Wales) Noise Input: inacoustic (Neil Morgan) Thanks also to the planning officers at Bridgend County Borough Council for their input in achieving a positive decision for this development. https://lnkd.in/eKYvU7gV

A great day and a unique experience for two of the #TeamAsbri gang today. We are looking forward to submitting a planning application for the re-opening of the Blaencwm end of the tunnel for Rhondda Tunnel Society - hopefully the first step in the full re-opening of the tunnel to become Europe's second longest walking and cycling tunnel. See their website for more details of this fantastic project; https://lnkd.in/du4z7apz
"What did you get up to at work today?" Well... Barrie Davies and I were lowered 300 feet (91 meters) through the access shaft of the Rhondda Tunnel at Blaencwm, pulled through a pipe (lying down on a skateboard!), and walked 2 miles (and back), approximately 1,000 feet (305 meters) below ground level, to Blaengwynfi. Not your typical day in the Asbri Planning office(!) but definitely my favourite site visit (and day) during my 9 (almost 10 years!) with Asbri! As a proud valley girl whose grandad drove steam engines for a living, today’s experience was truly unforgettable. The Rhondda Tunnel, once a crucial transport route during the coal mining era, is a remarkable piece of Welsh engineering history hidden behind several feet of concrete and coal spoil following its closure in 1968! I’m inspired by the passion and dedication of the Rhondda Tunnel Society, who are working tirelessly to restore and reopen this landmark. Their ambition is to reopen both portals and transform the tunnel into one of the longest pedestrian and cycling routes in Europe, creating a unique link between the Rhondda and Afan Valleys. This project not only preserves an incredible engineering marvel but also promotes tourism, sustainability and community. I highly recommend visiting their website to learn more about their amazing work! #RhonddaTunnel #Construction #HistoryMeetsInnovation #Engineering #Community #Wales #whataday

I recently took the opportunity of stopping whilst driving past a scheme that we recently obtained planning permission for at Llwydcoed, Aberdare for Chris Cousins at Prestige Homes. It is now fully built out and occupied so I decided to stop and take a few photos to share, but on receipt of the below video my amateur shots certainly didn't do the scheme justice, so I'll leave you with just the video instead. I'm sure you'll agree they look amazing. It's great to see schemes like this which provide quality family homes being built out in such challenging times, especially from a local builder.

Pleased to share that we recently received planning approval for the extension of a rural dwelling within Parc Cenedlaethol Bannau Brycheiniog. The application had a relatively complex background so it’s great to see that the proposals received such a positive outcome, which will provide a betterment to the family for years to come. A special thank you must go to: Michael Stratford – Designcell Architecture Richard Watkins and Hannah Evans – Ecological Services Ltd Heather McDowell – Bannau Brycheiniog (Brecon Beacons) National Park Barrie Davies Llinos Hallett – Asbri Planning

This really was a tough one, but we got there in the end. Issues included phosphates, heritage impact, archaeology, residential amenity, objecting officers and a referral to Welsh Government, but thanks to a determined client and design team, each issue was overcome resulting in the grant of planning permission. #planning #affordablehousing #extracare
After a long battle, Asbri Planning is delighted to have secured planning and conservation area consent for the construction on a new extra care facility on the former Roy Hatton Car Sales site in Brecon acting for Wales & West Housing and Hale Group Ltd. The proposed development is located in Bannau Brycheiniog (Brecon Beacons) National Park and within Brecon Conservation Area and involves the redevelopment of a previously developed site comprising a former car sales and repair garage, two bungalows and part of a car park. The scheme will deliver a 100% affordable housing scheme comprising 66 extra-care apartments and a day centre along with communal facilities which include a landscaped courtyard, a winter garden, a restaurant, health and beauty suite and a craft room. The application was approved despite an officer recommendation for refusal due to a perceived impact on the conservation area. However, Members of the National Park committee considered that any impact on the Conservation Area was outweighed by the significant benefits of the project, including the delivery of affordable housing for the elderly in an area of significant need.
