August marks National Immunisation Awareness Month, an annual observance held to highlight the importance of vaccination for people of all ages. Having funded COVID-19 vaccinations for over 22 million people and vaccinated 40,000 children against measles through our project partners, we not only understand the importance of vaccinations but also the people delivering them. The pandemic reminded us that healthcare workers who are equipped and trained to meet the health needs of communities are critical for maintaining health services equity and access. 👩⚕️ 👨⚕️ By funding the training of 33,846 health workers across the globe, we are proud of the sustainable impact we have made to date in strengthening the foundations of healthcare infrastructures. #CrodaFoundation #ImprovingLives #NationalImmunizationAwarenessMonth

Every year on 9 August, the world celebrates the International Day of the World's Indigenous Peoples, a day to honour their cultures, rights, and contributions. 💚 On this special day, we are delighted to announce we have awarded a further grant of £76,000 to Instituto Amazonas, an organisation dedicated to empowering Indigenous communities. Our continued partnership, which will directly benefit 3,212 Indigenous people, will promote the self-sufficiency and sustainability of Indigenous communities in the Amazon by strengthening local production chains, developing food processing and storage infrastructures, training young Indigenous people and organising fairs and festivals to publicise and sell their products. Croda Brazil’s Eduardo Bocatto, Learning and Development Specialist, who nominated the project said: “Instituto Amazonas has proven to have a true calling in supporting the Indigenous tribes in Brazil. The challenges are enormous, but through the years they have gained trust from Indigenous communities, which is key to supporting them in any way.” #CrodaFoundation #ImprovingLives #WorldIndigenousDay #Indigenous

We are thrilled to share that our Trustees have awarded Espaço Feminista additional funding to continue their work in Brazil. 👏🏽 The grant of £60,298.87 will support Conceição das Crioulas women in Salgueiro, helping them earn an income by cultivating and selling products such as fair-trade honey and organic cotton. Not only will this project strengthen the community’s economic autonomy, but it will also protect natural species and provide water security. 🐝 We look forward to reporting on Espaço Feminista’s continued sustainable impact. #crodafoundation #improvinglives #fairtrade #empoweringwomen

The Foundation team and our Board of Trustees were delighted to host our first Partner Learning Day of 2024 in June, focusing on two of our improving livelihoods projects. It was inspiring and thought-provoking to hear from the Chief Executives of Dig Deep (Africa), Ben Skelton, and Cleft Lip and Palate Association (CLAPA), Claire Cunniffe, who spoke about how their work is impacting underserved communities, the challenges they continue to face and their organisations’ ambitions.   There were many takeaways from the day, including learning that to date our grants have: •Provided clean water to 1,500 students and 2,000 community members in Bomet County, Kenya 💧 •Enabled the distribution of 518 Welcome Packs to parents of babies with clefts and provided support to 1,554 families 👪 We would like to thank Ben and Claire for their time and their dedication to sustainably improving lives 👏. #CrodaFoundation #ImprovingLives #ImprovingLivelihoods

We're delighted to have contributed £60,000 to support Kaleka’s Mosaik Initiative. Our grant will enable farmers in these districts to become Roundtable on Sustainable Palm Oil (RSPO) certified, allowing them to get a price premium for sustainably producing commodities, which is critical to improving their product value and ultimately their livelihoods. 🌴

Today, we're reflecting on two years since the Action for Sustainable Derivatives (ASD) Impact Fund kick started its support for the Kaleka Mosaik Initiative. It's a project designed to drive regional economic development and sustainably restore landscapes in two of the largest palm-producing districts in Central Kalimantan, Indonesia. A big thank you to our supporting ASD members – Avon, Clariant through its Foundation, Groupe Clarins, The Clorox Company, Croda, Croda Foundation, The Estée Lauder Companies Inc. through its Charitable Foundation, GATTEFOSSÉ, Haleon, SEPPIC, Stéarinerie Dubois and Zschimmer & Schwarz.
