EOC at the UK Architecture and Engineering Showcase, Paris A two day celebration celebrating the best of UK engineering and architecture started today, hosted by the Department for Business and Trade and British Embassy Paris. Paris office leads, Philip Wilson and Mitsu Edwards, as well as Founding Directors Brian Eckersley and James O'Callaghan, will be in attendance for the duration of the event. This week, Italian architecture magazine THE PLAN shines the spotlight on Norton Folgate, and celebrates how the design honors the site's history while improving the public environment and creating vibrant and adaptable spaces. We collaborated with architects Stanton Williams, Morris+Company, DSDHA, and East architecture, landscape urban design ltd a team of consultants including Skanska, AKT II, Atelier Ten, Eckersley O'Callaghan to deliver this project for British Land. 325 Deansgate Tops Out!   Our project at 325 Deansgate in Manchester has officially reached the important milestone of 'topping out'. The last floor deck at level 22 was poured as 2024 came to a close, signifying the completion of the primary structural frame. 18 storeys of the 22-storey tall tower overhang the Grade 2 listed Deansgate Castlefield viaduct, carrying TfGM Metrolink, which remains operational at all times during construction. We designed a series of efficient 18-storey high Vierendeel frames to act as a permanent structure supporting the cantilever. In order to make sure the Vierendeel frames are fully engaged, the frame was built off a temporary one-storey deep steel truss with a series of jacks propping the permanent frame.    Now, the full height frame has been built and the jacks slowly released, allowing the structure to take its final permanent form.
