About us

The Faculty of Medicine is one of the nine faculties of the University of Geneva (UNIGE), which ranks among the top 60 universities in the world. At the heart of international Geneva, it cultivates strong links with the major players in global health and is one of the driving forces behind scientific innovation in Lake Geneva's Health Valley. Anchored in a local network, innovative and open to a constantly changing world, the Faculty of Medicine trains 3,500 students in human medicine, dental medicine and biomedical sciences. Its 230 fundamental, translational and clinical research laboratories work in all areas of the life sciences, with a particular focus on oncology, neuroscience, genetics, digital medicine and global health. With its closest partner, the Geneva University Hospitals, it forms a major centre for research and teaching in medicine and life sciences. The Faculty of Medicine also hosts the University Clinic of Dental Medicine, a centre of excellence in dental care open to the whole population.
