We go through different seasons in our life physically and metaphorically. I see myself as an emotional companion to my client's journey through their most challenging seasons. My goal is to support you through the winters of your life, and even inspire you to enjoy them! My therapeutic approach is client-centered, trauma-informed, culturally-inclusive, LGBTQ2S+ allied, body and sex positive, nonjudgmental, and strength-based, as to ensure that you feel safe enough to be yourself. I understand healing as a creative, personal, and non-linear process in which we gain insight over our lived experiences.

After having worked in various mental health care settings, I am excited to now focus on my passion for individual counselling. I provide evidence-based therapy to youth and adults and I have a special interest in working with those who experience anxiety, depression, grief and postpartum mood difficulties. I have specialized skills and training in cognitive-behavioural therapy and dialectical behaviour therapy. I take a hollistic approach when it comes to helping my clients make change and I believe that when client’s challenges and strengths are validated in a supportive and therapeutic space, long lasting change is possible.

Navigating life's crossroads can be especially overwhelming for people grappling with trauma or PTSD. These moments—choosing careers, pursuing education or sports, forming relationships, or seeking personal growth—can be overshadowed by past experiences, intensifying feelings of anxiety, emptiness, and a constant sense that something vital is missing. This can complicate making decisions, having it seem almost impossible to choose the right path forward, and the presence of trauma intensifies the pressure of these decisions. I get it, and I'm here to support you through this struggle, through thick and thin.

You wake up each morning with a swirl of emotions – some days with an anxious pit in your stomach, other days with a heavy weight on your chest. You often feel overwhelmed, not just by the grand narratives of culture and identity, but by the daily stresses that mount up unnoticed. High expectations, perhaps from family, peers, or even yourself. You're seeking guidance, understanding, and strategies tailored to your unique journey. Not just any therapist will do. You’re searching for someone who gets the complexities of walking between two worlds, someone who can truly say, "I understand."

Accepting New Clients: In my practice, I prioritize creating a supportive and relaxed environment where therapy is a highlight of your week, not something you dread. I aim to make each session feel like a meaningful conversation rather than a clinical procedure, where you can laugh and heal in equal measure. My approach is to foster a space where deep reflection leads to clarity and peace, encouraging you to explore your thoughts and emotions openly. I value a therapeutic experience that allows you to be your authentic self, supported by warmth and non-judgment. Each session is designed to empower you, facilitating personal growth

Welcome! At some point, you may have experienced stress, felt anxious, overwhelmed, sad, or depressed. No one is immune to these common, human conditions. Sometimes, we can work such emotions out on our own by changing our lifestyles, reading books, taking classes, or through talking with friends and family members. Other times, we notice patterns that we haven’t been able to change on our own, or issues start to overwhelm us and negatively affect our lives, relationships, and work. I hope to create a warm and supportive environment where my clients are encouraged to seek positive change and growth.

Navigating life can sometimes be challenging and overwhelming. We do the best we can and sometimes that can be exhausting. We can feel alone with our problems and potentially criticized for our current situations. What we want is to be happy, to be free from our day to day struggles, and to be back in control of our own life’s journey. With someone there as support, we do not need to tackle these issues on our own. Having a non-judgmental, safe space to talk about and process our thoughts can make all the difference. You are the expert of your own life and I am there to support you in increasing your quality of life.

Connecting with you in a compassionate, empathetic, and relaxed manner. Are you or a loved one experiencing overwhelming feelings of stress and anxiety? I believe in starting our conversation where you are in your life and exploring this with you through strengths based, solution focused counselling and support. When we reach adulthood we are not well prepared for managing the feelings that come with that. Sometimes these overpowering feelings can become so large that we need to reach out and find support from someone like myself that can help you find strength, solutions, and calm in an environment that is peaceful and relaxed.

I am a therapist who has been providing services in the Algoma area for the past eighteen years. I work with children, adolescents, families and emerging adults (18-24 years old) in many areas including anxiety, depression, coping with the impact of trauma and many other areas of need. Working towards earning clients' trust is always a central focus of my work because it takes so much courage to open up, be vulnerable and speak aloud about our true self/ves. That's scary to each and every one of us. If you think we might possibly connect in a way that could help meet your goals, I invite you to reach out to me.

I believe that personal health is not only the state of the body but our minds, emotions, spirituality and thoughts as well. To help ourselves, we need to feel safe and secure in order to allow ourselves to become vulnerable and therefore able to work through the discomfort of change. There are times when life gets overwhelming as it's part of the human experience. As a result of this, you may feel stressed, anxious, depressed, angry, and your usual coping strategies aren't working. It is helpful to get support from someone who can provide a safe space for you to explore the thoughts and behaviours that are causing you pain.

Are you feeling stuck in a cycle of secrecy, shame, and isolation that often accompanies alcohol and/or substance use? Maybe you are wondering if you have a problem with substances, are contemplating change, or are interested in relapse prevention to sustain your gains in recovery. Alternatively, are you exhausted and feeling helpless as you navigate a loved one’s substance use and mental health concerns? Perhaps you are worried about your own well-being and want to reconnect with yourself. I also support individuals experiencing anxiety, depression, grief/loss, chronic stress, and major life transitions.

Being autistic or neurodivergent in a neurotypical world can make you feel very alone and misunderstood. As a queer and autistic person, I have also felt like this many times in my life. We are surrounded by messages that we need to be different, in how we socialize and how productive we are in school or work. We are told we need to change to fit other people’s expectations. The discriminatory views of neurodivergence you have absorbed throughout your life may still be impacting how you see yourself and how you live your life, even in subtle ways. Critical messages can stick with us even when we don’t like or agree with them.
