We're delighted to see Broadgate Tower featured in The Architects’ Journal' yesterday. Located at the vibrant intersection of Shoreditch & the City, this transformative scheme for British Land will breathe new life into one of London's most recognisable office buildings. The project includes the comprehensive refurbishment of 14 tower floors, a three-story extension, and an activated ground floor featuring biophilic reception spaces and market-leading end-of-trip facilities. As Buckley Gray Yeoman Founding Director Paul White notes: "This project represents the best of thoughtful urban regeneration, pairing timeless architecture with modern-day functionality. The new design will establish Broadgate Tower as a benchmark for sustainable and people-focused office spaces." Today we have announced we are committing to the major repositioning of Broadgate Tower, a 34-storey office building at our Broadgate campus in the City of London. We're creating high quality spaces for our customers: ➡️ A three-storey extension with a c.6,200 sq ft terrace to the front of the building ➡️ End-of-trip facilities, including cycle storage and shower facilities ➡️ Transforming Broadgate Plaza, creating a green oasis and enhancing biodiversity The project is targeting BREEAM Outstanding, as well as an EPC A rating and a WELL certification, to ensure an environmentally responsible design. With active leasing requirements at their highest level since 2011 and a 5 million sq ft shortfall of new or substantially refurbished space in the city over the next four years, Broadgate Tower is expected to attract occupiers looking for well-located, high quality office space in a thriving campus environment. This week, we continued the NLA London Leaders Network series with a Breakfast Talk on Brownfield Regeneration. Our London Leaders Network brings together leading representatives from the built environment with leaders from national, regional, and local government for discussions on unlocking barriers to key areas of growth for the capital.   The discussion focussed on Landsec, Berkeley Group Plc, and British Land's report on Brownfield Regeneration, exploring planning reform and its role in unlocking urban regeneration. As London works to maximise the potential of its brownfield sites to deliver more homes, jobs, and skills, industry leaders examined additional challenges facing these projects, with a particular focus on funding and viability. What a privilege to host the first of the W Programme's 2025 lecture series at Shoreditch Arts Club on Wednesday! Natalie Kane, Curator of Digital Design at the Victoria and Albert Museum, presented a thought-provoking discussion "Ways of Being / Ways of Building: Disability-First Perspectives" which challenges us to look beyond mere compliance and consider how disabled communities have fundamentally shaped our built environment. Kane's insights on disability-first approaches to architecture and urban design were inspiring, drawing from her upcoming V&A exhibition "Design and Disability." From the activist history of curb cuts to contemporary inclusive design principles, she articulated how disability justice and innovation are inextricably linked to creating spaces where everyone can truly thrive. Bishopsgate Goodsyard has been shortlisted in both the Heritage and Mixed-Use categories for the coveted annual Planning Awards, honouring those who pioneer in the planning and placemaking sectors. We're grateful to the judging panel for recognising the forward-thinking vision of this East London site. In partnership with Hammerson, we’re transforming this historic brownfield site in Shoreditch into a seven-acre mixed-use neighbourhood, blending world-class architecture, urban greenery, and cultural vibrancy.
