  • Yesterday saw Team Cubico join nearly 30,000 other participants for the annual JP Morgan Corporate Challenge in London. This year we had a record-breaking turnout with over 43 staff members taking part! 🏃♂️🏃♀️ Promoting social and environmental causes through sport is central to our CSR ethos at Cubico. • Powering progress towards a clean energy future 🌏⚡ We are delighted to announce the release of Cubico’s latest ESG report, which provides an in-depth look at our environmental, social, and governance performance for 2023. This year's report, our most comprehensive yet, includes familiar overviews, data sets, and case studies, along with new content that significantly enhances its scope and depth. The report reaffirms our dedication to accountability, transparency, and maintaining the highest ESG standards for the benefit of our employees, local communities, and the planet. Cubico's commitment to ESG now goes beyond compliance and risk management. Moving from a risk-focused mindset to an opportunity mindset is what we believe needs to be the way forward for businesses and Cubico is at the forefront of this journey. Our CEO, David Swindin, commented: “ESG is integrated into our culture and business strategy. • As we celebrate the #SummerSolstice in the Northern Hemisphere, it's the perfect time to shine a light on innovative technologies that harness the power of the sun. ☀ Our Solem PV plant in Mexico generates electricity for up to 1 million households, however clean solar panels are crucial for maximizing efficiency and energy production, especially during these sun-filled days. By undertaking systematic cleaning of the panels, we ensure they are always performing at their peak, helping us generate clean, renewable energy more efficiently. ⚡ #SolarPower #Renewables #Mexico

  • This week, our Mexico Country Head, Osvaldo Rance, participated in an insightful panel discussion with Mariuz Calvet (Chief Sustainability Officer of Santander México), Alejandro Malagón (President of CONCAMIN (CONFEDERACIÓN DE CÁMARAS INDUSTRIALES, MÉXICO)), and Carla M. (President of ASOLMEX) as part of Asociación Mexicana de Energía Solar (ASOLMEX)’s tenth anniversary celebrations. 🌞   The panel highlighted "Ilumínate, Sol para Todos," a circular economy program dedicated to creating a fair and inclusive energy transition by providing energy access to rural and indigenous communities across Mexico. Cubico is proud to have been an important and longstanding supporter and driver of the Illuminate initiative, managed by the fantastic team at PROYECTO CONCENTRARTE AC. This partnership has been instrumental in delivering over 700 solar kits to communities without access to electricity this year alone, lighting up homes and transforming lives. 💡   Cubico's commitment to these communities is evident not just in the provision of clean energy, but in our support for broader social initiatives. At the event, families benefiting from the 2024 program showcased and sold handwoven bags, with the proceeds reinvested into a food sovereignty program for the same communities. This holistic approach ensures that our efforts contribute to both energy independence and economic empowerment.   To learn more about the fantastic impact the Illuminate program has had, watch the video below: https://lnkd.in/ekhwQKYi #Sustainability #RenewableEnergy #SocialImpact #EnergyTransition #CircularEconomy #ASOLMEX #Iluminate #SolarEnergy ☀️

I was pleased to host Vestas’ Enterprise Leadership Team (ELT) meeting, gathering our senior leaders across regional and global functions. Our customer panel was one of the event highlights – stressing how partnerships are critical to the energy transition. Thank you, Bernerd Da Santos (The AES Corporation), David Swindin (Cubico Sustainable Investments), and Pål Eirtheim (Equinor) for joining us. It’s a privilege to have your direct input into our strategic direction.    Last year, Vestas took its first, pivotal step to profitability - an outcome of the team's dedication and discipline. Going forward, we need increased momentum and continued discipline. This year’s ELT spotlighted this further. To navigate in our complex industry and in the current uncertain market environment, we need a sharpened focus on leadership and simplicity. Communication plays a key role in driving this forward and helps us differentiate between what’s essential and what’s interesting. It was great to see our ELT put this into action through exercises and workshops - thank you all for playing along.   Despite the current challenges, our industry continues to hold great potential. To unlock it, we need to keep our focus and get back on track. Seeing the passion from team Vestas, and the engagement from our customers during the ELT reinforced this. Let's continue powering Vestas and the energy transition.

Minister for Energy and Clean Economy Jobs at Queensland Government

Companies producing everything from steelmaking coal to beer are banking their continued Queensland operations on clean energy. That’s why the Miles Government is building the next gen transmission infrastructure needed to connect renewables to Queensland business. Because it protects existing jobs across the State. The clean energy will make sure investment continues and jobs are supported because we have a plan - the Queensland Energy and Jobs Plan. The reason we can protect jobs in heavy industry is because of renewable projects like Wambo. We’re acting now to help business reduce emissions and stay globally competitive as the world decarbonises and that’s good for jobs and communities.
