A great result for BGO and Mission Street in closing the re-financing of our Oxford and Cambridge assets with Tristan Capital Partners. The £180m facility represents one of the largest re-finances in our sector and enables the start of construction at Fabrica, the 180,000 sq ft second phase of the West End, Oxford’s only central innovation district. Thank you to Brad Greenway, Luke C. L and Joy Dracos of JLL who led on this.

It was an honour to have hosted such a wonderful event at Inventa yesterday. Thank you Tony Sedgwick and Graham Combe for putting together the #CreativeDisruption forum in Oxford. I hope it was beneficial for all those you attended. #oxford #drugdiscovery #lifesciences #biotech
Founder of the #CreativeDisruption & #AgileLeaders Forums & #BiotechBuddies and #CoffeeBuddies Events
Tony Sedgwick and I has a fabulous time hosting the #CreativeDisruption Forum in Oxford yesterday where we focused on debating about “new technology in #drugdiscovery.” Thank you to all our interviewees which included Richard J. Law from Exscientia which was tremendously popular with the participants and very insightful on the way #ai is being used. We also had fascinating interviews with Jonathan Ellery from Sitryx, Matthew Fyfe from STORM Therapeutics Limited, Michael Dabrowski from Pelago Bioscience AB and Jordan Palfrey from X-Chem, Inc. A special thanks to all of our sponsors that made this gathering possible. This included Gabriel Rudert from Mission Street who provided the fabulous Inventa Innovation Hub as a venue. This is a new development in Central Oxford, a top location and facility. Also thanks to Pelago Bioscience AB whose CEO Michael Dabrowski and Head of BD Magnus Lejelöv flew in from Sweden to participate. Also thanks to Jordan Palfrey from X-Chem, Inc., Mariana Vaschetto and Ben (Bernardo) Retamal from Collaborative Drug Discovery - CDD Vault, James FRY and his team from Mills & Reeve and thanks to Jack Corbett and his team from GENerX Life, the executive recruitment experts, who are great supporters of our activities. Other thanks goes to Nicholas Blevins who ran our Change Management Workshop (with Jack) and also “hats off” to Neil Wilkie of Mironid® Limited who flew in from Scotland 🏴 to be with us…… great to see you Neil!! We are planning to host an event in Scotland in March-April time next year, watch this space!! My favourite quote from the day was from a young biotech CEO, who I won’t mention as we host this events under Chatham House Rules. They said “This is the first life science event they’ve been to where they have been relaxed when meeting new people,….without having to drink!” I loved that ❤️👌. Next for us is a #AgileLeaders “Investor Pitch” Workshop at The Mills Fabrica next to Kings Cross station London on the afternoon of the 23 October where we focus on “content and performance” of your pitch. This is to help those pitching to investors to “refine your pitch” before the next string on investment pitching events.
