👉 As an international company, we need to make a difference and ensure we are doing our best to create the future we want. Over the past few days, many of my amazing colleagues have been sharing on LinkedIn which of the 17 SDG goals are a personal priority for them. 💙 💭 I have thought about it a lot in the past. I am a former finalist of a science competition; I worked on plastic prevention and the danger of microplastics. I was on stage at IFAT fair as a speaker about gender equality in STEM subjects. I represented Germany in a competition where students developed solutions for water problems worldwide. I was in local politics for 4 years and worked for a sustainable city. I am now working on climate protection with the help of IT. 💬 What I want to say: It is hard for me to choose just one SDG. However, I realize that education - the opportunity to learn and question our daily actions - has been the foundation of all my activities. In my opinion, a sustainable future is based on an educated society. Together, we have the possibility to ensure an equitable quality education and promote lifelong learning opportunities for everybody. 𝗥𝗠𝗜𝗧 𝗿𝗮𝗻𝗸𝗲𝗱 𝗳𝗶𝗳𝘁𝗵 𝗴𝗹𝗼𝗯𝗮𝗹𝗹𝘆 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝘀𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗶𝗺𝗽𝗮𝗰𝘁 We are proud to announce that RMIT continues its #sustainability leadership, ranking in the top five global institutions in this year’s 𝗧𝗶𝗺𝗲𝘀 𝗛𝗶𝗴𝗵𝗲𝗿 𝗘𝗱𝘂𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 (𝗧𝗛𝗘) 𝗜𝗺𝗽𝗮𝗰𝘁 𝗥𝗮𝗻𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴𝘀 for impact against the sustainable development goals (#SDGs). RMIT University remains first in the world for Reducing Inequalities (SDG10). The University also achieved strong improvements in two other areas including Clean Water and Sanitation (SDG 6), up 13 places, and Gender Equality (SDG 5), up 18 places. Climate Action (SDG 13) also improved to 16 in the world. "This achievement belongs to our staff, students and partners who bring transformative education and impactful research to life every day. Nowhere is this more critical than in service of our physical, social and cultural environments,” says Professor Alec Cameron, Vice-Chancellor and President of RMIT University. UNIVERSITY OF SAN FRANCISCO, San Francisco, CA Global Virtual Project Team Management, October - November 2023 Successfully completed a global virtual team project with peer students from Universidad Diego Portales in Santiago, Chile. Collectively developed a project proposal promoting one of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) to present to a mock board for an organization. This project included: - Researching and utilizing technologies for communicating virtually - Developing knowledge of cultural values, global mindset, and effective practices for teaming in a global context - Participating in the development and implementation of a team charter with emphasis on effective means for virtual communications - Evaluating and providing performance feedback to individual team members and the team as a whole - Creating a leadership structure and team roles for collectively managing the project process - Conduct research on Gender Equality - Developing and presenting our research to a mock organizational board
