TEST CAMP INTRALOGISTICS panel warehouse trucks: Hydrogene - game changer or show stopper? Some interesting statements and theses during the panel hosted by IFOY juror Peter MacLeod 🇪🇺 Lithium-ion is still cheaper - and hydrogene will be needed in high volumes by industries like the chemical industry. Florian Kraus (Jungheinrich AG) I am pretty sure that we will see more green hydrogene use cases in the future. Dr. Bernhard Wienk-Borgert (GLOBE Fuel Cell Systems) Three shift uses cases can be an interesting business case for hydrogene. Of course companies have to have a critical mass, too. Let us stay open minded developing different technologies - of course, we have to find the right business cases and applications. Prof. Johannes Fottner (Technische Universität München) We should talk more about the chances than the limitations. Lithium-ion will be the dominant technology in the coming five years. But that should not stop us from working on green hydrogene use cases. Dr. Florian Heydenreich (STILL GmbH) #testcampintralogistics #ifoy #materialhandling #sustainability #hydrogene

Our commitment to sustainability at Proferro begins with our processes. 🧐📚 Therefore, we continuously invest in advanced technologies that allow us to be more energy efficient. 🌍 One of the ways we realize this is by saving energy on the extraction process of our cupola furnace. Our extraction system consists of a turbine that is coupled to an electric motor that draws exhaust gases and fine dust from the cupola furnace, which prevents them from entering the atmosphere. 👍 Meanwhile, a frequency converter varies the speed of the motor according to several measurements. This results in reduced emissions of fine dust as well as energy savings of approximately 60% on the extraction process compared to a motor without a frequency converter. 👌 #proferro #sustainability #readyforthefuture

Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF): A Vision for Future Generations As the world moves towards a more sustainable future, the aviation industry is at the forefront of this transformation. One of the most promising advancements in this sector is the development and implementation of Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF). SAF represents a major shift towards reducing the carbon footprint of air travel, ensuring that flying remains a viable and responsible mode of transportation for future generations. The Importance of Sustainable Aviation Flying has been an integral part of modern society, connecting people, cultures, and economies across the globe. It has enabled unprecedented levels of global mobility and economic growth. However, the environmental impact of aviation, particularly its contribution to greenhouse gas emissions, has become a significant concern. To address this, the aviation industry is turning to innovative technologies and alternative fuels like SAF to create a more sustainable future. SAF is a type of aviation fuel derived from sustainable resources such as waste oils, agricultural residues, and even carbon captured from the atmosphere. Unlike traditional jet fuel, which is derived from fossil fuels, SAF can significantly reduce the carbon emissions associated with flying. Here are some key characteristics and benefits of SAF: Reduced Carbon Footprint, Renewable Sources utilization & Compatibility. The production of SAF involves several cutting-edge technologies that ensure its sustainability and efficiency: Feedstock Processing: Advanced biochemical and thermochemical processes convert raw materials into fuel. This includes technologies like hydroprocessing of esters and fatty acids (HEFA). Carbon Capture and Utilization (CCU): Innovative methods capture CO2 from industrial processes or directly from the air, converting it into sustainable fuel. Hydrogen: it is the first building block to link renewable energy and green chemicals. The adoption of Sustainable Aviation Fuel represents a transformative step towards a greener and more sustainable aviation industry. By investing in SAF technologies and supporting their development, we can ensure that flying continues to be a force for good in society, connecting the world while preserving it for future generations. The journey towards sustainable aviation is not just about reducing emissions; it's about redefining how we interact with our planet and securing a healthier, more sustainable future for all. I just read an article about LEWA GmbH new #G3E triplex #diaphragm_pump, and I’m impressed by its monoblock design. It’s specifically engineered for #low-pulsation metering of ammonia in dual-fuel marine engines. The fact that it can reach pressures of up to 400 bar while reducing operational costs with fewer components is a game-changer for efficiency and reliability in fuel supply systems. This could be a big win for industries looking to improve #sustainability and #flowrate. I believe this #innovation will impact the future of fuel supply systems in the #maritime industry. What do you think about it? Source: https://lnkd.in/dVeDedMD
