Gwendolyn M. Sanders is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with 26 years of experience in the mental health and health-related field. She is experienced in working with adults, families, couples, and veterans to address their unique challenges and live more fulfilled lives. Gwendolyn specializes in relationship issues, depression, anxiety, grief, end-of-life care, couples counseling, and major life transitions. She continues to work with veterans in a variety of settings and understands their specific issues that impact their need for care. Gwendolyn completed her Master of Social Work (MSW) from Southern University at New Orleans.

I am a Licensed Certified Social Worker with the state of Mississippi. Services provided by my practice will include individual, marriage, family, and group therapy. There will also be a wellness aspect to my practice for those interested in taking advantage of these services. I have worked with numerous populations suffering from a variety of psychological and mental issues during my career. My counseling and therapeutic approach has a tendency to be client centered utilizing techniques from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Rational Emotive Therapy and Reality Therapy.

My aim as a psychotherapist is to provide a supportive and safe environment where open expression and exploration of thoughts and feelings can freely take place. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor trained in motivational interviewing, and multiple behavioral therapies. I have prior experience as a therapist as an addiction counselor, child and family therapist, as well as those in the inpatient psychiatric setting. With better awareness, we can identify life goals, change undesirable behaviors, improve relationship patterns and achieve greater self-acceptance.

The former director of a state recognized day treatment program for emotionally disturbed children, I have worked in the substance abuse field and treated adults with depression, anxiety, PTSD, Bipolar Disorder, trauma and sexual abuse, just to name a few.

As a Licensed Professional Counselor, I have spent my counseling career of twelve years working with children and families. I currently practice at my local church and offer Christian counseling services to individuals and families. I enjoy working with children ages 6 to 12.
